jeanette reyes takes us inside the investigation. jeanette: traffic is moving along better now after the fatal and the horrific accident this morning. look behind me. it's better. earlier today there was a fatality. this involved four cars on the inner loop in the express lanes. four people were trapped in two cars. i took a while but they were extricated by the firefighters. one of those people ended up dying. a lot of the backup we saw is rubber necking. people on the outer loop wanting to see what was going on. if you were headed this way on the outer loop, people were as curious to see what is going on. one person dead as a result of the horrific accident. reporting live, jeanette reyes, abc7 news. alison: we have an update now on a high profile murder. this past summer in d.c. police arrested a second person in connection with the shooting death of an american university graduate. andre dudley is charged with second-degree murder. matthew was shot to death outside the shaw howard metro stop in august. he was not the ended target.

jeanette reyes is in the newsroom with how they escaped and the damage they left behind. jeanette: two firefighters are ok this afternoon after being trapped inside that burning building, but now, 15 people are without a home because of this multi-alarm fire. take a look at this incredible video. those flames broke out around 3:30 this morning near auburn .igh school firefighters told us they could see flames shooting through the roof. firefighters two were trapped on the second floor. one jumped from the window. the other was rescued with a latter. >> i stepped on the roof outside my window. i leaned over to look, and there was a fire in the backyard. i went banging on people's doors to tell them to get out because there was a fire. thankfully, no one got hurt. jeanette: no one was injured, fortunately, but the cause of the fire is still under investigation. were damaged,s three of them pretty badly. jummy: authorities are investigating a small plane crash in jefferson, west virginia. according to the herald mail, there were two people on board the plane, but neither were

jeanette reyes, abc7 news. alison: new information now in an attack on a metro bus driver.hey identified a suspect in wednesday night stabbing in the southeast. robert vaukburg charged with assault with a dangerous weapon. in this case it was a knife. the metro bus driver survived the attack and was treated at the hospital and had been released. leon: days of heavy rain blamed for a landslide that killed a woman in newport, oregon, the shifting ground damaged four homes. several others were put in danger. fire officials say they were called out to the house last night. by the time they arrived the car and the garage in it were headed down the hill. a neighbor expressed shock over the mess. >> the devastation and the collapse was really amazing. i was thinking little slanting or tipping but not the destruction here. leon: wow! firefighters evacuated a family and eventually several others in the neighborhood as well. what a mess there. here weather is not a mess but just cold. alison: we have been spoiled. all right. you might not need heavy coats for too long. meteorologist

jeannette reyes is there with new details in the newsroom from the last two hours. jeanette: prince george's county police any busy this week, three homicides already and it's just the beginning of the week. the last two happened really around the same time, 9:15 yesterday evening. the first one, take a look behind me near do all high school on good luck road. prince george's county police arrived on the scene saying that they found the man shot twice at the apartment complex. there were also gunshot holes in the black -- in the back of a black vehicle. he was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries. not long ago police learned more about the second murder on 50 third place in riverdale. authorities say the victim was 52-year-old luis montague. it was not believe that the shooting was random. police found montague inside of his home with multiple gunshot wounds. police aren't charging -- police are encouraging anyone with information to give them a call and are offering a reward to anyone who can give information that lead to an arrest in the shootings. j
