janine de la vega is live in the county there to tell us more about the chase which ended in gunfire, jeanine? >> reporter: police and sheriff's deputies, you can see behind me, they have this street lit up and the shooting where it took place, they are recovering evidence from the scene. san jose police are driving in unmarked cars and spotted a stolen car and tried to stop it. they used lights and sirens so the suspect could tell they were police but that's when they rammed the police cars and a parked vehicle. one got out of their car and that's when the suspect accelerated. >> the officer fleeing for his life ended up crashing into a vehicle. ems was immediately summoned, suspect was transported to the hospital where he died of his injuries. >> there was a passenger in the suspect vehicle and he is being treated as a witness and is being cooperative. it is unknown if he will be charged with anything. right now we know they are adult males. we don't know why they didn't want to be stop by police other than the fact that they were driving a stolen car. we will have more information on that

we have new information about what is going on surrounding the homeless camp, jeanine?reporter: dave, i have learned the cleanup will happen this friday and they have already started warning people and we have not had a chance to warn anything because they are sleeping in those tents. we want to ask them where they plan on going and there is about 70 tents here. this grassy field has turned into an open campground for the homeless. city workers are supposed to be here tomorrow to warn many about the cleanup. people living here will have 72 hours after they get notice and the cleanup will happen again on friday and will include moving trash and debris and taking down structures. it will also be stored for 90 days and the city says this encampment is becoming a worry. people who pass them every morning has this to say. >> who are they hurting, i mean it's cold out here, there is not a whole lot of places, nobody is using that lanni way, i say let them stay. >> the land is owned by the city and its near the airport and nothing can be built on it because of the air traffic.
