jeff, thanks. it's got the green light. san francisco has permission to build a seawall along a portion of ocean beach. the hope is to protect some of the city's critical infrastructure from erosion. but nbc bay area's sergio quintana shows us some groups are not on board with the wall, including surfers. many people who live in this part of the city have been focusing on proposition k recently. that's the plan to close a portion of the great highway to traffic permanently, which san francisco voters passed. but another plan by the city just got a green light from the state coastal commission. and this one will literally change the face of a portion of the beach. the city wants to build a seawall to protect sewage infrastructure at ocean beach, between the west side pump station and the oceanside water pollution control plant. the now approved seawall will begin here at sloat boulevard and the great highway, and is expected to extend 3200ft south. when you walk along that route, you can already see how beach erosion has fel
