for that we go to jennifer davis. she is in fair oaks, virginia. >> reporter: hi there, guys. well, it is piling up. you can take a look here and see we have a lot more snow. it's a combination of what the plows are throwing on to this area and what is falling as well. big kudos to residents. they certainly listened to the warnings, not one car on the road. this is route 50 and it is quiet. so lots of room for the plows to do their job. vdot says more than 4,000 plows are on the roads doing 12-hour shifts. they're out on the major highways, they're also in your neighborhoods trying to get ahead of the storm before things get really bad. no question the way the snow is falling now, it's combined with wind, it's bitterly cold, it's much more brutal out here. it's difficult conditions for anyone who has to work, that includes first responders. there is a police and fire station here and if you look at some video, we saw them leave earlier heading out on calls and of course the hard work that the crews are doing. we talked to one driver it is hard for them to find gas right now. a

jennifer davis joins us with the story. >> reporter: police released images of seven people of interest in this aggravated assault. it left the store clerk with eight stitches in his head. police released more than two minutes of surveillance video taken about 8:30 in the evening on tuesday. it shows several people of interest coming and going from mike's market. at one point three of the men attempted to steal candy from the front counter. the clerk tells them to put the items back. on the video you can see him help grab a baseball bat and lock the store door. the three complied with his request and he let them leave. but he returned with others, assaulted the clerk kicking and hitting him on his head and body. we spoke with that clerk. he says he went to the hospital after the attack and needed eight stitches on his head. he still has bruises on his arms too. he says the store regularly deals with kids coming in to grab chips and candy and it is an ongoing problem. his store is not alone, this is just a latest in a string of incidents allegedly at the hands of a large group of teens.
