jennifer joyce live in port richmond with the sad details.od morning, lauren and this hit-and-run happened right behind me here, beneath that overpass, that's where police were focusing their investigation. we watched as accident investigation officers combed the scene taking measurements and performing accident reconstruction to get a better sense of exactly what happened here overnight and how. police say it was shortly after 2:30 this morning that a man was struck by a vehicle here on the 2200 block of allegheny avenue near tulip street. investigators confirm the man suffered severe injuries to his head and body and was pronounce at the scene. the victim is a 31-year-old man, police have not released his identity. right now, they're working to find the driver who hit him and left him to die in the street. at this point, police do not have information on the car involved but they're actively working on that. police say they found a number of clues to confirm that this was, in fact, a hit-and-run. >> his shoe was found almost a block away, i

jennifer joyce is live with the details. . >> reporter: this victim, a 48-year-old woman, remains in critical condition here at pen presbyterian hospital. this after police tell us that she was shot in the neck. it happened last night on the 3400 block of fairmount avenue at the woman's corner store, police say, this victim was working behind the register at freddy's grocery when she was shot. police believe this was an attempted robbery. the shooter took off quickly. a neighbor walked into the store around 8:30 to grab something quickly and saw the woman bleed profusely. she was holding her neck. the neighbor called 911 which police say was the right move. they're pulling surveillance video now. they're looking for clues but they're also asking for the community's help, investigators think people in the area might know the person or people involved in this. >> i think this is someone from the area that was in there and thinks they're going to have an easy time of guesting money at the end of the night. obviously, at some point, fires that gun, critically wounding this person, changi
