they will be scattered inç new jersey at the jersey shore.a possibility of storms as we go into the afternoon hours. look at linwood, 81 degrees, wildwood, warmer than yesterday, up to 78 and 83 for dover, low 80s in wilmington with the storms developing later in the day. in fact, we may see quick heating and those thunderstorm development -- or the thunderstorm development for later today could produce stronger storms in delaware and south jersey. right now that activity is to the north. you can see another line of showers and thunderstorms moving into the ohio valley and northwestern pennsylvania. there's more to keep track of during the day today. that first line of showers, clear at 8:00 this morning. we'll see scattered clouds but we could see those showers arrive in the allentown area. that's at 10:00 this morning. scattered showers, that first wave goes through. during the late afternoon as things really heat up, here comes the potential for stronger storms. that's 2:00 in the afternoon. the lehigh valley into berks county and then int

more in jersey. let's get right over to aimy freeze for a look at what is coming today. >> it is going to be very winter-like, even though we are on april 9th. looking at a weekend, a lot of people don't like to hear the news. the optimistic viewpoint is it's not a lot of precipitation. not everybody sees it. it is a big recovery for the second half of the weekend. that is the best way i can spin we're going up the hudson here towards the this live picture. you can see that we do have some cloudy skies, cloudy conditions, built for the most part -- but for the most part, we're actually dry in and around the city in the boroughs. it won't be until we get into the later part of the afternoon or i would just say maybe around the lunch hour, 1:00 that we start to see precipitation in the city. look at the temperatures. upper and low 40s close in opinion farther up to the south, 30s in south jersey. we have colder air in monticello and poughkeepsie. it's actually more energy well to the south of us. tempe

when it was well into the 70s for delaware, south jersey, the jersey shore will be the one exceptionay. the wind, though starting off from the west or the north, shifting around during the day, eventually will be coming off of the ocean. upper 50s to near 60 degrees this afternoon at the shore while the rest of the area will be reaching for the 70 degree mark. you won't be reaching for the umbrella today. stays completely dry today. look to the west. and this slow-moving system now is, well, still very slow moving. northern missouri right now. scattered showers in the chicago area. it's part of a system that will bring us wet weather on friday. but for today, this is a futurecast. look how clear it stays. sunshine will be nice and bright. the temperatures will be warming up during the day today. as far as clouds are concerned, by late tonight, those showers intensify in illinois, right in the center of the midwest. they are on the move and by first thing friday morning, we will have wet weather in our area. that's thursday night at 10:00. you can see the showers in western pennsylvan

still in the 60s in south jersey.s in philadelphia are staying in the low 60s right now. well, they've just cooled down. 59 degrees. these are constantly updating from thousands of observations from the weather underground. we've teamed with them to bring you neighborhood weather. those storms you may have heard overnight are offshore. the next round is exiting the pocono mountains. it is to the west. those showers that are rolling through western pennsylvania and into central pennsylvania, that's the next wet weathermaker for us. we could see some heavy downpours during the day. if it's not going to be an all-day rainfall, however. you'll see breaks of sunshine for that quick warmup. by 5:00 this afternoon, we'll see the totals picking up. in fact, by 7:00 this evening, closer to three-quarter inch in swedesboro while philadelphia tops a third of an inch of rainfall. that's one computer model. it shows you that we will see some rainfall during theç day today. that's not our only chance of rain in the coming days. to
