good evening to you, i'm jessica dean. chris may is off tonight. >> the big question now, will this dreary weather hangar round for the holidays. meteorologist kate bilo joins us from the weather center and this weather could throw a wrench into holiday travel plans. kate. >>> unfortunately jessica, that is true. we had similar storm although even a stronger storm the day before thanksgiving that brought rain and snow. this will be just rain and this is just the first taste of it. that we're getting to night we saw sun earlier on this among but the evening went downhill pretty quickly as these bands of showers continue to move through from southwest to northeast here this evening and you can see as we zoom out the center of that storm is way up across portions of northern plains. study yesterday of the rain over portions of illinois back into iowa and that's not going to get here until christmas eve. we've got some time before this storm is done with us. we'll take you to future weather and talk about the near term here. s

kate. >> thanks jessica. this is a large scale storm system that's impacting much of the eastern half of the nation some snow a cross portions of the great lakes in the upper midwest but it's the rain that will be an issue for us. not snow this time around but very warm air moving in with this system almost tropical temperatures are in the 70s along the gulf coast today. you can see the rain and even some strong thunderstorm along the squall line moving into portions of georgia at the mommy. for us it's the rain and it's lifting northward right along the i-95 corridor as we head through the overnight hours and into early tomorrow it will be with us all day tomorrow. also dealing with patchy dense fog. mist and drizzle outside tonig tonight. a break in the action from the instead yesterday rain but again watch for that fog if you'll be out and about visibility down to third a mile in dover. a half mile in the poconos and 1 mile in wilmington the fog can um up on quickly dense here in chester county. play it sa
