nancy cook, lynn sweet, jill wineback, and natasha beartran. jill, we're lucky to have you here. and today we have this development that is coming down to us, confirmed by nbc news that we're just learning here, of the staying of the subpoenas again for information related to transactions or dealings with a bank and with donald trump. what do we take away from this, why is this important? >> well, i think it is important because the court did not grant a stay. the court said that they had to comply right away, that there was absolutely no legal grounds for the complaint that they were raising about trying to prevent the bank from giving the documents to congress. and the only reason i can think that congress would agree to the stay is, one, that it has been competent dated so it won't be a long stay. and probably more importantly, if all of the various subpoenas that are being stone wawalled a brought to the attention of courts all at one time, the impact is really dramatic. so i think having some connection between all of the different subpoenas that the president has refused to

jill, there is a reluctance. we have an eagerness for republicans to talk about impeachment as if for some reason donald trump would want to be impeached. but they seem to think impeachment is something he want, which is an odd thing to think. and on the democrats' part i feel the reluctance to go there is in some ways a mismemory of what impeachment did to bill clinton. i still want everyone to read "the hunting of the president" which was a definitive book in my view on the impeachment. what do you think democrats have learned incorrectly about what impeachment did to clinton and what it did to the party, both parties? >> well, in the first place i think it's the wrong comparison, even though i didn't cover the nixon impeachment. i was a young teenager at the time. i think it's incomparable to that in many ways. i would say the stage we're at now is much more like a year out from nixon when senator sam irvin was running the senate watergate committee, which was not an impeachment committee. >> right. >> it was

let's bring in now cbs news business analyst jill schlesinger.l, let's start with the stock market. what companies were hit the hardest? >> you saw three big ones, by the way. intel, apple, and caterpillar together, the three of them down 10% in the last six trading sessions. why? when you look at where their money is coming from, intel sells 25% of its chips in china. apple and caterpillar, their revenues 18% and 5% respectively. these are companies coming under pressure. >> dickerson: so those are the companies. : nsumers are also taking it in the teeth. larry kudlow, the president's economic adviser, admitted to that. but he also said china will feel some pain. so how do both sides get hit here? >> well, with the u.s. it's much easier to quantify. we know items impacted by tariffs, those prices are rising much faster than the inflation rate. economists believe households will pay $500 to $1,000 on average this year. but china it's a lot harder. first of all, they don't import as much u.s. stuff as we import from them, so that's different. also
