john gonzalez is there. reporter: this afternoon we still have an active crime scene, detectives have been using canine cameras to collect evidence and at this moment, the medical examiner has arrived to remove this body. this is at the stanton glen apartments, where residents reported shots fired this morning. police are still working to confirm that but what we can tell you is that a man believed to be in his 20's was found behind the apartments here on stanton road in southeast d.c. and police calling this a suspicious death investigation. he was found by a woman walking her dog around 7:00 this morning. according to the area advisory commissioner, it appears this suspicious death does include foul play. the body was found, a male, and it was found a gunshot wound.
