he loved john muir's writings. muir was in his early 60s. he's been around a while.amous as a naturalist. so i think roosevelt used it as an excuse to bond with muir and have this amazing camping trip. john muir was concerned because as much as he wrote about and wore shipped yosemite and other areas, he was seeing this commercialization of that it concerned him. he was seeing, you know, a lot of logging taking place. and there were these threats. he realized, even when you had a real federal protection, it doesn't get you out of the woods but he knew it was a start. when roosevelt first reached out to muir, muir was going to be in europe at the time and changed his trip because i think he knew this opportunity was really chance to address these concerns about what was going. on special when i commercial logging in the area. so you know, muir saw that coming. he seized upon the opportunity. changed his trip. didn't to go europe and met with muir. the camping trip was four men. teddy roosevelt, john muir, and then two guide/cooks named charlie and then another man nam
