let's go to ktvu john sasaki, he is live tonight at the hospital in vallejo where officers tonight are in shock and sorrow, john. >> mike, this is kaiser vallejo where there's been a lot of pain and anguish today because this is where the officer was brought after the shooting in the hours as soon as it happened there's been a steady stream of friends and officers. the dispair they are feeling is clear. lots of hugs and tears. we understand from residents here in vallejo that the officers who's name has not been released was well known in the community for giving back quite a bit. including as a high school basketball coach. and that he was a member of the vallejo police department for some 28 years. someone who's very, very well known in the community and i've talked to officers in other agencies, law enforcement agencies in the bay area who also knew him. who are also devastated by this loss. of course in this situation, just like any time an officer is killed other law enforcement officials even though who don't know him they feel as though they have lost a brother. i've talked to s
