national guardsman john walker lives in kent island was deployed to kuwait in 2013. so he left his dog with a friend. when he came back zara was gone. after social media campaign went viral and raised more than $1,000 a day to help find zara, the beloved pet was found traced to a new owner in south carolina. here's the latest hitch. the new owner is refusing to give zara back. walker has launched a new go fund me campaign on line for legal fees to fight for the custody of his dog. but last night -- by last night the site had raised more than $5,000. but here it is. it's like any social media likes to say. it's complicated. according to annapolis capital gazette news the new owner says she was told by zara that zara was treated badly by walker and that she says walker e-mailed her during deployment saying the dog was better off with her. walker insists the new owner is dishonest and lied to him about zara's whereabouts. as we said, it is complicated and appears to be headed to court so we will keep you posted on what happens to zara. reporting live in the newsroom reb

john: well, mark, that history is not pretty. george herbert walker bush lost. we have it up on the wall. lost in 1980, won in 1988, won in 1992 but damaged him in a way because pat buchanan did so well. george w. bush lost to john mccain in 2000. new hampshire is not a great state for the bushes. what jeb bush has to do to overcome the history is to live up to what he set a couple of times about himself -- proved to new hampshire that he is his own man. mark: both president bushes went hard in iowa, and that hurt them in new hampshire. new hampshire voters tend to not just validate what iowa voters to. if you look culturally, you and i disagree about this -- i still think bush can be a strong iowa candidate -- he will be a strong candidate for this state. scott walker is here, doing a public isn't tomorrow. unless chris christie picks up the establishment vote here right now is going to be more towards jeb bush than anyone else. he's got that family history against him, but he's a good fit for this state. voters care about policy, and the guy wows on policy. jo

walker have been forced to answer questions when he ran for reelection? would the wisconsin press have been pressing him for information about his meetings he might have had with johnever he knew about these donations? whether he solicited them. but none of those questions have been put to him. i think that's why this story, if nothing else, may prod walker to have to answer some of those questions. >> as this investigation continues, this case continues to work its way through the courts in wisconsin, it's had a wild ride through the courts already. is it likely, if that case continues, that there will be more made known that will get more public information about who were those donors to scott walker back in those days who thought they could make those donations under the cover of anonymity by this arrangement, are we going to learn more? >> presumably if the investigation is allowed to continue and charges are brought, then yes, we could learn lots more. the question that this story raises is, what else is there in the files? what else have prosecutors obtained about who was funneling donations to this group and what role walker himself played in raising that mo

since then, since scott walker won that recall election, things have gone pretty well for john menardy have been awarded over $1.5 million in tax breaks. they have sharply scaled back the environmental repercussions that have plagued him more than any other company in the state for years. to be clear, there was no bribely investigation here. he is not being investigating for anything. a spokesperson gave us a explanation about how he was treated by the scott walker administration could be explained by normal politics, nothing scandalous at all. but the fact that he tried to secretly give $1.5 million, and subsequently he received very favorable treatment from scott walker. and those things may not be connected at all in any way that is criminal and stinky. we were never supposed to know about the donations in the first place. part of the reason we may know about them now is because of the trailing ends of an ongoing criminal investigation into scott walkers donation. the case will be heard before the state supreme court next month, and governor walker and his campaign team have succes
