the fire in san jose. you can see live pictures now of the flames that are very, very close there to some sort of a building. it is a brush fire we're understanding, but fire crews have been attacking this during this newscast. the beginning of the newscast we were seeing heavy black smoke. this is near the east ridge mall and right now we're seeing lots of fire crews, helicopters doing some water drops and we're hearing some preliminary reports that firefighters may have a total handle on this. at this point that is not confirmed. but we have -- can tell you we've seen a definite decrease in the amount of smoke. traffic along 101 has been moving quite at a clip, but the surface streets' traffic has been affected. looks like your usual commute traffic at this time but we were hearing from a witness earlier who was on with us who said because of the smoke and because of people rubber necking there did seem to be some sort of slow dourn down in traffic. this is located near the east ridge mall. but the smoke
