josh christine is joining me right now. josh, first up what is the latest in this? what are you hearing from your sources today? >> well you know definitely a new chapter in the investigations alex. the investigations have been moving forward, both the one at mar-a-lago and the issue of january six and the presidents efforts to over to the former presidents efforts i should say, to overturn the 2020 election results. there has been a lot of activity and both of those investigations over the last couple of months in terms of grand juries, subpoenas, people being questioned. privilege, executive, privileged fights going on. and so we are waiting for mr. smith to come to washington, if i can use that phrase. back from the hague, add a bit of a bike accident in the last few days. so that delayed his return and made him unable to appear with garland. but we think you will sort of slip right in over the existing apparatus alex. that is somewhat different than other special counsel investigations in the past. >> i have not heard about the bike accident, is he doing okay? >

josh, do explain. josh, can you hear us? take us through your reporting. >> yeah, i can hear you. know, what we think, is a lot of these forces were already at work before the election took place. now that the election has moved into the rearview mirror, it is a question of how many of these that the former president is facing and, you know, you talked about in the setup, some of the dynamics here. the justice department, the federal prosecutors are not constrained by the pre-election rules they tend to observe. it's unclear whether those really applied to the former president during this period because he technically wasn't running for anything, right? but pretty much it was made clear to us by the justice department not to expect major developments in these investigations during the to months leading up to the election. that period is now over. some of the folks we've talked to say they think prosecutors have moved along far enough, at least in the mar-a-lago investigation, that they're actually trying to anticipate potential trump defenses and bring in witnesses like kash patel

at the moment, it looks like josh schapiro has a pretty great lead. we have seen that in pennsylvania before, so we have to wait for that real results. the next race that is also of national importance is the senateac that one looks and can between democrat john fetterman and republican men met oz -- mehmet oz. this is the opportunity to gain a seat anywhere in the country. it could very well determine who controls the senate next year. there is a lot of money pouring in nationally, a lot of attention on this race. at the moment, it really looks like it could go either way on election day. host: where are both candidates getting support within the commonwealth? what parts of the state are at play there? guest: from what we see, the breakdowns are pretty typical from republicans and democrats. they're getting support in suburbs which have become increasingly blue over the last few years. the more conservative places, the central part of the state, the northeast and southwest have trended more republican and appear also to be still staying that way. the

josh has highlighted to prepare for a potential loss. and so they will he will need to instruct his cabinet, appoint transition coordinating councils and instruct his cabinet to prepare memos and prepare a plan for. if he does lose and there are requirements to report to the congress and the public on the implementation of the law at the six months mark prior to the election and, the three months mark prior to the election. actually ironic only in the last cycle. president trump's team did a very effective job up until the election, there was a fellow named chris liddell who was the deputy chief of staff. he was also the person that ran romney transition. he worked very under radar screen to the law as required only after the election when president trump got involved, did those plans kind of go the rails and liddell's he was handcuffed essentially. so president did this under the laws well when he ran for reelection and his team actually worked with. romney's team to prepare for the potential that romney could have won and obama on the
