good evening, i' m josh mcelveen jean: and i' m jean mackin. members of the fbi fanned out through the neighborhood today where robert was killed on august 30. wmur' s andy hershberger joins us live with details on the fbi' s investigation. andy: fbi officials were in the area of the shooting most of the day looking for any piece of evidence connected to this crime. search crews today used everything from metal detectors and knives to ladder trucks to look for clues in the murder of denise robert. the 62-year-old woman was shot and killed while walking in this neighborhood on august 30. her killer remains at large. robert died from a single gunshot wound. much of this area has already been searched and officials say the work done today by the fbi

trump drew a large crowd to manchester for politics and eggs this morning, and political director josh mcelveen was there . he joins us live from the news room. josh: certainly, taking the red eye from wisconsin to new hampshire is made a bit easier when you have your own jet, but donald trump had to be energized by the crowd that awaited him in manchester this morning. according to organizers, this was the largest turnout in the year history of the politics and 20 eggs event, and if he was fatigued a bit trump didnt show it. he spent an hour talking about immigration, local control of education and the heroin epidemic plaguing the state. less than 3 month before the primary, trump has to be considered the favorite on the republican side, but there are still a large pool of republican voters who cant imagine a trump presidency, and after the event , i caught up with him. he admitted he still has a lot of work to do. donald trump: it is not about leading in the polls. its about getting the job and getting it done. because our country has such unbelieveable potential and if do it right, the u.s.

good evening, focus, thanks for joining us i'm josh mcelveen. jean: i'm jean mackin. william shine tried to sell the 14-year-old girl to a 26-year-old man to sexually assault her not realizing the buyer was actually an undercover police informant. josh: amy is live in concord to explain why this is the beginning of the court action for shine and his wife, amy. amy: william and julie shine, husband and wife, are both facing felonious sex assault charges for what they did to two teenage girls allegedly between may and november of last year. julie shine is accused of holding down one of the victims during the assault. today was about william shine. he has been locked up since his arrest on human trafficking charges from a year ago and it looks like he'll stay that way for years to come. 34-year-old shine appearing trial in september addressed the court prior to sentencing rambling on unchecked for some 32 minutes about what a dedicated, hard-working, protective family man he was. prosecutors calling shine's crimes among the most heinous in our society. >> selling a child

josh: i'm josh mcelveen. wind i squam middle and high schools went into what's being called a soft lockdown when a student alerted school officials to the shooting threat. jean: amy, investigators say they've identified the person who posted this threat. reporter: they have, tilton police confirmed that with the assistance of the f.b.i., the person who posted the threat was identified, investigators went onto say they do not believe there's a credible threat to the staff or students at winnisquam regional school district. >> after seeing all the mass shootings at other schools, it's not something that i'm willing to risk. reporter: the automated call went out monday morning, 20 to 25 parents decided to pull their children out of school, including crystal. >> approximately 8:15 this morning the high school received a threat from a social media website. the police department was called and the decision was made to place the high school and middle school on a soft lockdown as a precautionary measure. reporter: n

josh: i'm josh mcelveen. kevin paul, who watched another man kill an epsom police officer in 1997, is now suspected of several more crimes. ray brewer was in court today for paul's arraignment. reporter: just months after being paroled, kevin paul found himself back in state prison, being arraigned by video. >> mr. paul has a dangerous and violent history. reporter: it was in 1997 and paul was there when his friend shot and murdered epsom police officer jeremy charron. he then tried to get away from police. in the vehicle shooting at the police officers during the pursuit. reporter: in may, paul was granted parole, over the objection of charron's mother who didn't believe that paul had been rehabilitated. the latest charges stem from an october 23 burglary in weare. paul's involvement coming to light after police arrested one of the men who allegedly broke into the home. and he in turn identified paul. police allege that paul took possession of two stolen handguns and sold methamphetamine. however, paul said

i'm josh mcelveen. jean: and i'm jean mackin. 56-year-old mary ellen burrit faces misdemeanor charges of reckless conduct and running an unlicensed day care. josh: jennifer crompton was in the courtroom for opening statements today. reporter: this is the brown hooded jacket that 4-year-old willa clark was wearing when prosecutors say she was found hanging from a stick lean-to structure in the back yard of mary ellen bird's unlicensed home day care in enfield. >> when the defendant finally noticed her, willa was limp as a wet noodle, that's the defendant's towards. reporter: willa died days later. it was march 24, 2014. the state claims that burit was not only unlicensed but reckless, putting children in danger when she allows four of them under the age of 5 to play on the stick fort without an adult present. they say she was inside feeding a baby and making lunch, checking on them from a window. 85 feet away. >> and because of her limited vantage point, she was not properly monitoring willa and couldn't

good evening, i'm josh mcelveen. jean: i'm jean mackin. joyce craig requested a recount after losing to incumbent mayor gatses by fewer than 100 votes. josh: shelley walcott is live at the site where election workers have been tallying ballots all day. reporter: right now this recounsel still has mayor gatses ahead in this race, and a final tally is expected by 7:00 tonight. the hand counting of 20,1 it 8 ballots got under way in manchester this morning. last tuesday gatsas won the election by only 85 votes. his challenger, joyce craig, called for a recount. city election officials began sorting the ballots, watched by representatives from each camp, undisputed ballots went into box west the candidates' names. challenged ballots were forwarded to the board of recount for final determination. >> it's very important to my where all the final numbers are, so a recounsel was very necessary today. >> there's always anticipation, anything can happen, and we city here and we're humbled by the voters that came out and i think it's important that we

welcome back, i'm josh mcelveen. jean: and i'm jean mackin. mark richardson pleaded guilty to simple assault last month for the 2009 incident that was captured by surveillance cameras. andy hershberger was in court today and joins us live with more. reporter: jean, defense lawyers said jail time would serve no purpose in this case, but the judge felt the sentence needed to send an important message. lawyers for former seabrook police officer mark richardson said it was just a 10 second moment during an otherwise brilliant 13-year career in law enforcement. richardson was sentenced thursday for slamming michael bergeron into a wall while in custody, which was captured on police department surveillance cameras. >> to say i've always felt remorse for my actions that night, at no time did i ever act simply responded the way i was trained, my only intentions were to gain and maintain control of mr. bergeron. reporter: in may a mistrial was declared after a jury failed to reach a verdict, but richardson pleaded guilty to simple assault last month. h

josh: i'm josh mcelveen. police say they arrested steven belanger just minute after an attempted robbery on james town road. as kristen carosa reports, officers are crediting the homeowner with the quick catch. reporter: 30-year-old steven belanger now faces two motor vehicle violations and a felony charge after police say he attempted to break into this home in belmont and admitted he committed the crime to support his heroin addiction. >> substance abuse has a lot to do with property crime. reporter: belmont police say the break-in happened tuesday afternoon. the homeowner who didn't want to show her face on camera because she was shaken up was inside. >> i saw a car come up the driveway and i didn't recognize it. reporter: police say belanger came up the front stairs and knocked on the door. >> then i realized this isn't right, because he rang the bell after another minute, then tapped again. reporter: because no one answered the man went to the back deck, that's when the homeowner called 911. >> i heard a

good evening, thank you for joining us, i'm josh mcelveen. jean: and i'm jean mackin. this news comes a little more than two months after denise robert was shot and killed while walking on a manchester city street. mike cronin is live with the new details tonight. reporter: the f.b.i. is providing assistance to the manchester police department and new hampshire attorney general's office as they continue to investigate the murder of denise end. back in august, robert was out for a walk when she was shot and killed on gray street. she died of a single gunshot wound. a long time advertising employee for the new hampshire union leader, robert went for a walk river sunday night for the past neighborhood. no arrests have been made. police say neighbors saw a pickup truck driving from gray street onto carpenter street and speed back towards the city on union street, the driver described as a white man with close cropped hair and wearing a white tank top. police are investigating all possible motives because the f.b.i. is helping police and the a.g.'s office it says it can't c

welcome back, folks, i'm josh mcelveen. jean: i'm jean mackin. the rain forces some cities to cancel their veterans day parades, the rain is good news. hayley lapoint can explain why. hayley: we desperately need the rain in southeastern parts of the state. here is a wrap-up of some of the totals. one of the highest areas i could fine, warner, 1.6, a little ways down the road, 1.14 inches. franklin, just under an inch, same thing in pelham point, 7.5 inches of rainfall. here is the latest on the drought. so in those areas where you see the yellow colors and that peach color, that's where we have either abnormally dry, so in the yellow areas or the peach color, you have what's called a moderate drought. that continues even now, so we made at least a little dent in in drought conditions in those areas. as far as manchester goes this gives you a good idea. since september 1, we have had 6.18 inches of rainfall. we are actually down over three inches of rain when you compare to where we should be in time in the fall. we still have a ways to go. we nee
