what happened to representatives justin pearson and justin jones is an utter disgrace. this expulsion was blow to our democracy and underscores the legislator's flagrant disrespect for first amendment rights. the families of those who lost loved ones in the covenant shootings deserve real information and solutions not bigotry and petty politics. as elected officials it is our solemn responsibility to keep our communities safe from gun violence but extreme republicans have other priorities, protecting the n.r.a. instead of our children and silencing the voices of black leaders. extremist republicans continue to look the other way as our schools become firing rain onlis. as our movie theaters become firing ranges. as our places of worship become firing ranges. it should come as some comfort that both lawmakers who were expelled were reinstate. local leaders were able to see through the hatred and recognize that representative pearson and jones were fighting for their constituents. however, not forgetting that what happened in tennessee legislature can happen in any commun

jones is on his way to join justin pearson.ave the votes. what is your reaction to governor lee, setting a 72 hour for reporting information to the tennessee bureau of invest investigation? is this the first glimmer of change coming from the governor? >> thank you for having me on. i'm in the car on the way to memphis. excuse any signal breakage it's an important step forward it goes to frederick douglass' wisdom that power concedes nothing without a demand the governor would not take this step without the demands of the young people at the capitol by the thousands. i think this is a first step i talk to his chief of staff i said we want good faith negotiations to get a ban on high capacity magazines, assault weapons, universal background checks there are more steps to make sure our students and children are protected. my message is that this is a good step but there's more work to do and this is the beginning. it should not be the end of negotiations >> do you have any confidence that the house leader there will work with you
