. >> we start with justin andrews live at the pleasant hill b.a.r.t. station checking on the impact from the derailment on the morning commute. >> reporter: good morning, len and amanda. b.a.r.t. is using a single track through this area. we're learning that heat played a major role in yesterday's partial train derailment. i'm going to go live right now to photo journalist brian kiley who is giving us these live images. this is the site of yesterday's derailment. crews and equipment working to repair the track. we're seeing concrete ties stacked up. this happened yesterday evening. now 12 hours later crews are still continuing the work at this site, even at this 6:00 hour. i want to go to video from yesterday. this was in the evening around 5:30 when this ten-car train was headed to san francisco against the busy commute. the hot weather caused the track to curve forcing the train to jump the tracks in concord. there were small fires that broke out. about 50 people were on board and had to quickly get out. minor injuries were reported. here is a b.a.r.

we're live at chase center this morning, justin andrews, kpix 5. >> if you're headed out to the game, make sure you use public transit, it's easier to get there instead of braving the roadways through there. if you are braving 101 this morning, expect some brake lights, a live look from mobile 5, that is a big rig that caught fire. you can see that just beyond the flashing lights there, just got an update from chp about another 90 minutes until they open up lanes south 101 at lawrence expressway because they have to crush the trailer and need caltrans to sweep and mop up the mess. brake lights both directions, use 280 as an alternate in the meantime. we'll keep you updated when lanes open up. it's a slow ride south so 1 into santa clara, sunnyvale and the backup northbound 101 coming out of san jose. so heads up there. that's a look at traffic. >>> here's jessica. >> thanks so much, gianna. here is our first alert weather center forecast for us. it is not heating up too much this week. yes, we are talking about a gradual warming trend but i mean current conditions right now still mid
