cnn's kara scannell, with this now, with the latest on this so an engagement ring to yeah, and engagement ring, happy valentine's day, right so this is a new allegation that was revealed in a court filing by the department of justice. and what they said was that one of the co-defendants in this case and new jersey businessman had offered to pay $150,000 worth of bribes be cut to menendez in order here to get his help to resolve a car insurance case, a criminal case against a different person. and so what prosecutors say, they have this on tape discussions between the confidential source and one of the businessman and his associates that menendez was expecting both a car. this was a luxury mercedes-benz convertible that his wife had received and also this diamond or engagement ring which was supposed to be worth about $35,000. but what prosecutors say is that menendez was swindled by one of his co-defendants because he bought a ring that was worth $12,000 in he used some of that extra money to buy himself a rolex and other things. so another allegation here, in this case, this is all part

we're following these major developing stories and anymore, we've actually want to get right to kara scannell. kara, do we have a ruling in the donald trump's civil fraud trial case? >> yeah, we do, boris, we just got the ruling. it is 92 pages long and i'm scanning through it right now. but when i looking at these numbers, the totals that the judge is ordering collectively in the case. so this will include all of the defendants. i'm getting a total of 362 million and i'm just scrolling through this now i can see that there's the, dollar amounts specific to donald trump. i'm going to use a calculator to do some rough math, gets us to, for donald trump about $354 million. that's for him. the company, the trump organization, so very close to what the new york attorney general's office was seeking of $370 million million. there there's a lot of a lot of zeros here and a lot of other numbers. but roughly $354 million is the judgment against donald trump. the judge also found that his son, eric trump, is liable in the amount of $4 million. donald trump jr. is liable and the amount of 4 million. an

let's get right to cnn's kara scannell. kara walk us through this latest decision yeah. >> jake, so appeals court judge in new york's have a donald trump must post the entirety of this bond, $454 million including the interests on the judgment in order to satisfy the judgment to stop the new york attorney general's office from trying to move forward to execute that. now, this is a ruling from one judge, so it is temporary in nature and there will be further briefings on this. but what the judge said is that trump will have to come up with this money. he has about until essentially the end of march to do this. and but what the judge also said is that trump is this one of the bands that was trump is facing was that he couldn't take out any loans from any new york financial institution or any financial station that was overseen by new york regulators, which is essentially a large swath of the global banking system. so the judge here saying that trump can apply for loans because that was one of the arguments trump's team has mad
