meteorologist kari hall, weather something we can celebrate today? >> even though we start out with clouds we'll have comfortable weather going into today, a little bit warmer than it was yesterday with palo alto starting out with upper 50s. we can see that our skies will clear, in the upper 70s by early afternoon, eventually reaching into the low 80s in the south bay, with some upper 80s in some of our valleys, while san francisco gets a little bit more sun today, in the upper 60s. we'll talk more about this and the weekend forecast. mike, you're tracking the unexpected slowing through oakland. >> south bay just fine, no problems down here indicated by the sensors. same thing for pretty much all over the bay, typical tri-valley, 680, 880 through high ward. same thing approaching the bay bridge and upper east shore freeway. everything is relatively mild. unexpectedly slow 880 around 23rd. camera the at the coliseum, shows you a smoke-filled view cleared. the distraction is gone. there was a debris fire just off of 880 around 23rd where we see the slo

the weather outside, kari? >> it was great yesterday. it was really nice and comfortable. today just a little bit warmer but not much. and we're about to wrap up spring here in the next four hours. this is a look at the cloudy skies over san jose and campbell will start out with upper 50s and normally we're reaching 80 degrees. weovehat today and hotter tomorrow. we'll look ahead to our weekend forecast. tracking the delay for the east bay. >> those are wrapping up as well. hopefully less th hours. overnight roadwork for one of your westbound bores for the caldecott. they should be clear in the next few minutes. it looks like a crash is out of the lanes and no slowing, the counter commute. westbound lanes should be open by the time we're done with this report. westbound 580 coming out through castro valley out of dublin off the grade, we move down to one lane overnight as well. i'll check with caltrans to make sure there are no delays. >>> a new video of the massive inferno, the fireball was the result of an explosion that happened at a south philadelphia oil refinerynd th

first, we want to start with meteorologist kari hall. people are still recovering from yesterday. it was hot. >> wake iing up this morning ti and dealing with the heat from the weekend. it's going to feel a little bit better today. let's get a look out there as we start out from san jose. we're going to get a look at our temperature trend in campbell. we'll see a few clouds moving by. it will be hot. normal to about 80 degrees. water going to go about 5 degrees above that. we have big cooling changes in the forecast for the end of the week. more on that in a few minutes. the issue is north come iing in the area. we have this big jam. we have two crashes. it means there will be a half hour to clear the crash just about in north main. that will be issue. now it means in lafayette, they are seeing a lighter flow of traffic. >>> breaking news out of the south bay. four people and a suspect are dead after a tense standoff in san jose. it's a story that took a quick turn overnight. >> we check in with you about 30 minutes ago. anything new now? >> we're see inging a lot of the neighbors

first, meteorologist kari hall. you say relief is coming, but not for today. >> not today for most of the bay area. it will in spots like san francisco. we're looking in twin peaks where we've had a couple days of extremely hot weather. as we look at what we're feeling right now, san francisco, it's 74 degrees. and then check out half moon bay. 'v shift in the wind just enough to cool it down along the immediate coastline. but it's already starting to heat up. and the inland areas. take a look at fairfield at 95 degrees while livermore is currently at 90 degrees. it's going up, but these numbers are actually slightly cooler than yesterday at this time. in half moon bay, 9 degrees cooler. santa cruz, 10 degrees cooler. and then much of the inland areas only a degree or two lower than yesterday. at 24 hours ago. as we go through today, it is still going to be a scorcher of a day in the inland parts of the east bay. we're going to s digits but not as many. maybe spots like antioch and fairfield. that's where we'll reac

kari has a look at the forecast. >> a slightly warmer day compared to yesterday. we've had a nice cooldown and we still have the low clouds over san francisco while the sun is rising. out to plez an hill headed to the bate station upper 50s there and the next couple of hours in the upper 60s, upper 70s at noon. quick warmup today. mike you say there's a jack knifed big rig. >> headed toward milpitas out of fremont. i circled it right there. it's off of the roadway. so this is the warren avenue exit around mission boulevard, probably a better locator for folks who aren't familiar with the area. there's slowing for the distraction but not a lot. as the crews arife, i don't know when that will be to clear the big rig and likely have to clear one lane and you'll probably sew soom slowing through the area. we see over the last half hour as folks tap the brakes to see what's going on with the chp and find the rig and get a little stunned. 680 you're just fine, shouldn't have a problem making that interchange and the rest of the day shows an easy light friday drive. the
