i'm kate balduan. we're following breaking news this morning on the story the entire world is watching. officials in thailand just wrapped up a news conference about the slow but so far successful in almost a miraculous way rescue of a youth soccer team trapped for more than two weeks in a flooded cave. four more boys have been brought out alive today, that's in addition to four rescued on sunday. now divers must race the clock and the rain, of course, to get the final four boys and their coach out before the next downpour. cnn's matt rivers is at the hospital where the boys are recovering. cnn's ian watson is at the cave. let's go first to matt rivers. matt, what have we just learned from the press conference, from the authorities. what's the very latest here? >> reporter: yeah, we just heard a prmess conference wrap up by authority here in thailand. obviously, a lot of questions reporters are trying to get answered here. but a couple of key lines we can share with our viewers, we know that the four b

i'm kate baldwin in for erin burnett. embattled epa director appealing to president trum top fire attorney general jeff sessions and let pruitt himself run the justice department. this as we're learning about additional supreme court nominees that the president met with today. we're "out front" at the white house. what can you tell us about the appeal from pruitt directly to the president? >> kate this is just another interesting chapter and twist in this ever running scott pruitt story. we're told earlier that scott pruitt the head of the epa met with the president in the oval office. he had a solution for him about one of the president's biggest problems, that, of course, is the attorney general jeff sessions. we know the president has been displeased at jeff sessions for a long time for refusing himself. scott pruitt offered to be the next attorney general. and it's called -- he essentially would have filled the position for a couple hundred days under the vacancies act. it takes a confirmed member of the cabinet who i

kate: the newest superfood, which is lucuma. jason: what is it?ind of thing where you feel like you have heard of so many before. this is a new one, and it is surprising. it looks like an avocado and a mango hooked up somehow. it is orange, it is the shape of an avocado, but it has the texture of a squash, a flavor that is caramel-y and maple-y. it is so good for you. peru has a propensity for delivering super foods to the world. it is a combination of the andes mountains and the amazon. a lot of crazy things grow there, and lucuma is the newest thing. carol: does it taste good? kate: i would not advocate tasting it plain. it is hard to taste it raw if you are not in peru. it is surprisingly delicate. it spoils almost as soon as it comes off of the lucuma tree. doesn't that sound cute? jason: it sounds like a dr. seuss book. we are back with dan henninger, bill mcgurn and kate bachelder odell.immigration bill failed so miserable? >> it's a good question, paul. there are a lot of authors of the failure, one of them was president trump who did not go out and campaign of the bill to try to get it passed. there are other authors too like the freedom caucus who have moved the goal post on what they are interested in getting in exchange for deal on daca and whose on bill goodlatte bill failed on the floor. but the democrats have been cynical about this discussion as well? paul: they want an issue, they think it will help turn out voters, any chance of anything happening on immigration between now and election for example on family unification of the border in. >> the republicans have been working on a bill on that it's not clear where trump is on signing it at this point and that's one reason why it's delayed an not come to a vote or introduced but -- so i don't see much opportunity unless there's change. one thing that we were discussing is when voters know that both parties are
