"action news" reporter katherine scott is live in juniata park with reaction. erine. >> reporter: matt, police were called out elsewhere in the city yesterday urging teens not to swim in rivers and creeks when it gets hot out because tragedies like this happen all too often. that's what happened here yesterday. this road leads down to the tacony creek and police were called out here around 5:45 last evening. police spoke to teenagers, witnesses who said a 15-year-old boy was swimming in the tacony flee creek under the bridge at fishers lane here in june yacht today. he went under. he did not resurface. first responders jumped in the creek where it's about 8 feet deep much police and fire department paramedics were able to pull his body out. he was completely unconscious. medics worked on him but he was pronounced dead just before 6:15 last evening. police say there are a lot of hidden hazards that make area creeks and rivers dangerous for swimming. >> there's a lot of rocks. there's a lot of debris. there's a lot of trash. there's tree trunks that have fallen do

"action news" reporter katherine scott is lie in mantua. she's got an update on this case. ning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam. police have been questioning a person of interest and as they have been doing that homicide detectives have been waiting to execute a search warrant inside this apartment building where both the victim and the person of interest lived and you can see where police are posted outside of this building as they await for that warrant. 23-year-old laura araujo and the person of interest in her murder lived at this same apartment complex at 40th and brown in mantua. she was a recent graduate of the art institute of philadelphia. she was born and raised in new york city. araujo was found monday morning in kensington beaten strangled and stuffed into a duffle bag. homicide detectives say her hands and feet had been bound. she was placed in a trash bag and wrapped in a blanket before being put into that duffle bag. she had been dead four to eight hours before she was found and she was surrounded by her belongings. a few weeks ago araujo had moved

katherine scott has more. >> reporter: 54-year-old teresa must not lost her life, she was the case worker who accompanied alleged gunman richard plotts to the doctors office. he was shot and is in critical condition. people described a chaotic scene. >> i left to go to the pharmacy, i got halfway there, they said you got to go back doctor and two patients got shot, the shooter still at large. >> reporter: the police rushed the wellness center at mercy fitzgerald hospital. after 2:00 p.m., a mentally troubled richard plots of upper darby walked into the psychiatric unit. his case worker, teresa hunt and dr. lee silverman were in the office when an argument erupted. >> they heard a loud argument they opened the door and saw him pointing a gun at the doctor. >> reporter: the worker shut the door and called police. seconds later there was gunfire. detectives believe plotts shot silverman in the head it was a graze wound. when the gunfire was over, the case worker was dead and plots critically injured. investigators are trying to determine who shot hunt. former neighbors say he has a history o

katherine scott has more. >> reporter: teresa hunt lost her life. she was the case worker who accompanied the alleged gunman, richard plotts to a meeting with his psychiatrist. he remains in critical condition he underwent surgery at the hospital of the university of pennsylvania. >> i left to go to the pharmacy. i got halfway there, you got to go back, doctor and two patients got shot. the shooter is still at large. >> reporter: police rushed the wellness center at mercy fitzgerald hospital. after 2:00 p.m., a mentally troubled richard plotts of upper darby walked into the psychiatric unit. plotts and dr. lee silverman were in the office. >> they opened the door saw him pointing the gun at the doctor. the worker shut the door and called police. seconds later there was gunfire. detectives believe plotts shots silverman in the head. the doctor pulled a gun and hit plotts in the torso twice and once in the arm. they are trying to figure out who shot hunt. they also he had problems. >> you could tell there was strange. you know, that he needed help. >>
