i want to thank the office of small business, executive director katy tang and, carrie burnbalk and deputy city attorney to draft the legislation and my chief of staff natalie. we look forward making leland avenue a official commercial district in our planning code and invite everyone to visit the corridor which is reachable by muni line, 8, 9 and t train. >> thank you. supervisor chan. >> may i rerefer after board president peskin. >> supervisor dorsey. >> thank you madam clerk. colleagues today introducing an updated resolution on proposition 36, the drug addiction and threft reduction act which as you may know passed overwhelmingly two weeks ago state wide and city wide prop 36 won all counties and all 11 san francisco supervisor district. the resolution i am introducing today urging relevant city agencies to promptly and fully implement prop 36. in particular, it is newly created criminal offense known as treatment mandated felony allowing local prosecutors to charge a felony illegal drug possession after two prior convictions so third offense offered the option to participate in drug

i know i speak for my colleague katie tang, who runs the office of small business under mayor breed, who sadly could not join today when we both say thank you, mayor breed, for your leadership in this direction. because of these investments, we're delivering on our promise of an economic recovery that benefits all san franciscans across the city. just cutting the amount of red tape and fees alone is transforming the small business landscape and making it possible for people to get in the game and continue san francisco's legacy of unique, individual, owner based, small business. in talking to arthur today, i'm just going to note because it was very exciting, he found it much, much easier to open this small business than get housing. so that's our next front that we're going to work on. so mayor breed, the next administration has some big shoes to fill when it comes to matching your level of investment. these past four years, $15 million in this year's budget alone has gone. is going to small business investment, and we're going to see more businesses like gigi's as the result of this

[music] >> i'm katy tang the executive director of the office of small business. >> small business contributes to san francisco's economy. they provide the bulk of employment in the city and employing a million people in san francisco. and roughly 90% of the businesses are defined as small businesses. so, they contribute to the economy but also just the quality of life. small businesses are more then and there a place of transaction it is a community center. a play where people gather. know each other and form memories about the city. >> at the office of mall business i run a team this helps report all mall businesses in san francisco whether they are looking to stfrt a new business or expand or perhaps they are feeling with issues. our office is here as a point of information for anyone with a business that has 100 or nower employees. >> i was growing up i had many ideas of when i wanted to do. i wanted to being an olympic swimmer. and i wanted to men be an architect, you name it i had many ideas for what i wanted do when i grew up. and i never anticipated entering in politics. this opportuni

during the committee hearing, katie tang, director of the mayor's office of small business, said thatayor was not in favor of amending the ordinance and requested it be passed out of committee, as is. supervisor peskin then made a motion to table this ordinance, given the mayor's unwillingness to amend it based on community feedback and concerns. the committee, the committee then voted unanimously to table the ordinance, effectively killing it. next, the committee took up 30 south venice study. this item was continued from november 18th as well. supervisor peskin indicated he still had more amendments. he was working on for the ordinance, and proposed a continuance to december 9th. the committee voted unanimously to continue the item to that date. last but not least, the committee took up supervisor peskin's ordinance that would institute minimum density requirements for residential projects in rc and rto district. our newer commissioners won't be familiar with this one, as it was originally heard by the planning commission on july 20th of 2023. at that time, the committee commission
