joining us now is the mayor of atlanta, georgia, keisha lance bottoms.yor bottoms, thank you for being here. what did you see when you watched that video that led to such swift action being taken? >> what i saw was a use of excessive force, and i'm a lawyer and i was also a judge, so i looked at it from that eye as well. i spent several hours yesterday watching several videos, because there were several officers involved in several body cam videos, but the reality is this -- we are all at a tipping point in this country, and atlanta is no exception. so there was a lot going on this weekend in atlanta. we had very peaceful protests, but there were a lot of disruptions, and even in the midst of watching the video, the body cam video, you can hear in the background gunfire, and you can hear the fireworks and it was a very volatile evening, and unfortunately it resulted in what you see on that video, but thankfully these college students didn't suffer worse fate. >> since it was a very volatile weekend, do you think that the officers were at all justified in

i think that kamala harris, and keisha lance-bottoms. karen bass, marsha -- all outstanding women and i think they will get their proper due, but i think it would be a mistake for us to say what must happen when we have no idea what will show up in the polling, in the vetting. the only thing that's a must in this process at this time is to win. that's the must. it will be a plus to have an african-american woman. it will be a plus to have a latino and it will be a plus to have a woman, but just remember, it will not be the first time, sarah palin turned out not to be a good choice when the vetting took place. we had the same problem with geraldine ferraro. she has an outstanding woman, but when they start doing the vetting of her and didn't do proper vetting of her husband and that turned out to be a problem. so what i want us to do is to let everybody do the vetting, do the polling, and then after all of that is done, then let your heart and head take a look. i think he calls it sympatico. and whether or not the chemistry is there. take
