live in the digital operations center, keith jones, nbc 10 news. >> all right, keith.ur county by county weather coverage continues now. >> chief meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz back now with the forecast for chester and delaware counties. glenn? >> yeah, chester county can sometimes get more snow than any other part of the area. this may be one of those storms, and you can see a lot of it moving in from maryland once the snow starts, it is a steady snow, and there it is. obviously, snowing aloft, hasn't reached the ground in some areas, but in the southwestern portion of the county it likely has and we also have a band of heavier snow up in the northern portion of chester county. and look at this hour by hour intensity as we go through the night. it really gets heavier. when you're talking about three inches of snow in one hour, that is a tremendous snowfall rate and close to two in the hours before that, so we can have ten inches of snow on the ground just by day break there, and then there's another peak tomorrow afternoon. so what we're expecting, 23 to 28

good evening, i'm keith jones. we'll get to those stories in a moment, but we begin with last week's ambush attack on a philadelphia police officer. the fbi director now says they are not looking for any other suspects in connection with the shooting and in is no indication edward archer was part of an organized terror cell. right now at 5:00, nbc 10's lauren mayk joins us live at police headquarters. lauren, what's the latest on the investigation? >> reporter: the fbi director today said they are still looking to understand motives, still investigating edward archer's travel, and they are investigating this as a terrorist attack. however, i heard from other federal and local officials today and not everyone is putting a label on it. the attack left a police officer with three bullet wounds as he fired back. >> i just think his actions that night were nothing short of heroic. >> reporter: senator pat toomey didn't mince words. >> make no mistake about it, this was a terrorist attack. >> reporter: as for the suspect

for much more, let's go to keith jones in our digital operations center. keith, the president trying to prove he's no lame duck. >> that's right, jim. his aides are being careful not to call tonight's state of the union a victory lap, but the president plans to discuss his achievements in the white house. cameras caught president obama walking along the colonnade early this afternoon as he makes his final preparations for tonight. president obama, of course, has been preparing for some time. these pictures captured him working on his remarks last week with his advisers. the president is expected to talk about economic recovery, the fight against terrorism, and the need to reform gun laws. the white house says there will be an empty seat next to the first lady to represent all of the victims of gun violence. south carolina governor nikki haley will deliver the republican response to the state of the union, but republican senator pat toomey of pennsylvania is already calling on the president to prove he'll reach across the aisle and work with the gop. >> but

nbc 10's keith jones is here now to give us a closer look at the terrifying face to face encounter. >he commissioner said, amazing officer jesse hartnett survived and here's why when we break down the surveillance video. here's the suspect approaching the police cruiser pointing the stolen police weapon at hartnett. then police say edward archer pointed his gun right into the window with his right hand, shooting officer hartnett at point blank range and hitting him three different times. you can see the suspect run away in our next shot, he's a bit of a blur here in the crosswalk. he turns around one more time, tough to see him so i'm going to circle him, right here, even extending the right arm out in the officer's direction. then officer hartnett with his injured arm actually gets out of the police cruiser, he's right here right now favoring that left arm and this is when he's calling for backup. despite his injuries, he courageously runs after the suspect, if you're looking for him, he's right down here actually. there he is, bottom of the screen, edward archer soon arrested after

keith jones was also along the highway. he joins us live in coconut creek with the damageown there. keith? >> reporter: yeah, you figure winds strong enough to pick up a tractor-trailer to dump it and then tree limbs, no match. look at how it just sheared it off. ten inches in diameter. completely decimated, this tree. no match for the wind. across the wall here you're going to see an awninin. this is a retirement facility. it's pretty well tattered. the beams on the inside of that, they are pretty well bent and mangled. beyond that, you're going to see an orange roof. we did see some i ipectors up there taking a look at the roof. from chopper 6, it's clear the windmill retirement village took the brunt of this tornado. trees ripped from their roots. landscaping turned into a disaster. the canopy sheared apart in places. the wicked weather this way comes. tractor-trailer on its side. then we also had a pickup truck that rolled over and is also near that tractor-trailer. coming onto the turnpike at the same time was a tractor-trailer -- the driver said the winds just picked the hood a
