we're going to keith russell. >> the 25-year-old man came on to the grounds of north county high school. it happened around dismissal time. it's this letter that was sent to parents that news 4 obtained late this afternoon. the man followed a custodian into the school. school resource officers were called. they talked to the man and they were suspicious and called police. police went to the man's home not too far from the school and seized a cachet of weapons. here's what they found. a lot of stuff. ak-47 loaded with a 30-round clip, an uzi, 2 bolt action rifles, 22-caliber handgun, handgun with with laser scope, 9 mm with a silencer and a number of boxes of ammunition. it's important to say all the weapons appear to be legally owned by that man. he's been charged with trespassing. the man never threatened to harm any students. school officials say he attended for two months back in 2002. that's what we know for now. pat collins will bring us the details. >>> happening right now, vice president jackie bensen is about to administer the oath of office to john kerry. this is a ceremonial s

i'm keith russell. >> and i'm barbara harrison. we have breaking news, a house fire has claimed the lives of two young children. the flames took over the home on highland avenue in myersville, maryland. melissa mollet joins us. >> reporter: we just speak with investigators they tell us the two little girls who died were ages 3 and 6, sisters. chopper 4 flew over the house a little while ago. take a look. this fire broke out in the two-story home in highland avenue. when firefighters arrived the heavy flames and instability of the house hampered they are rescue efforts. that blaze so intense, it continued to burn for an hour and a half. dozens of firefighters responded. four others were if the house with those girls including a 33-year-old man, 33-year-old woman, 8-month-old and 7-year-old who had to be taken to the hospital for treatment. the victims' names have not been released and investigators woring to determine the cause. >>> other news, it's been a rough morning in northern virginia. this was the dulles toll road. traffic wa
