kelly swoope, abc2 news. jamie? >>> here's the latest on the accused paving scammer tommy clack. today clack had a criminal case in anne arundel county. they do expect a resolution soon but they're not telling us exactly what that may be. we'll keep you updated on any developments. >>> a city police officer paid to protect and serve but not to beat up a suspect. one officers is in hot water after he hit a suspect and it was caught on tape. >> reporter: the case did go to court and officer donyell briggs was placed on leave. now he's waiting to see if he will keep his job. this happened almost two years ago. officer donyell briggs stopped a car driven by ricky tom massments when briggs ordered thomas out of the car, thomas took off. another officer spots thomas and he surrenders on tape. then the tape shows officer brigs coming up to -- briggs coming up to thomas and punning him. >> we are committed to holding ourselves accountable. >> reporter: officer briggs has been suspended pending an investigation. the city police union is representing him. roosevelt leftwich, abc2 news. >>>

kelly swoop explainsy. >> reporter: legislation from state senator jamie would make it illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to use indoor tanning beds, today the senator sent a bill saying teen is be denied access to electric tanning beds, in 2009 howard became the first jurisdiction to retrick teens, last year california put in a law keeping minors out. right now they can use tanning bed it's they get permission from a parent. >> right now our law provides that minors, children can go into the indoor tanning bed, that cause cancer that will increase their chance ever getting potentially deadly skin cancer, can do it with a parent's note. >> very no family history of skin cancer. however i did go tanning when i was a teen. from the surgeries to countless hours of worry for me and my family that continue, i continue to get tests all the time. i wouldn't wish this on anyone. >> this is the only-. >> opponents say there is no evidence to show a connection. they say it's just not strong enough to warrant banning the beds. >>> and like -- the potential law could hurt businesses and also take
