kenny choi is off today. vallejo police officer shot and killed a suspect during a violent struggle. jessica flores reports from the seaside park police department with more on the investigation this morning. -- from the vallejo police department with more on the investigation this morning. >>> reporter: that's right. this morning, vallejo police investigating exactly what led up to that shooting. it happened last night. now, vallejo police say this all happened because of self- defense. the officer feared for his life. then he shot the weapon. but the man's family spoke out yesterday and they are demanding answers. now, this all happened 7:40 p.m. on marin and florida streets after a short pursuit. police haven't said exactly what the initial call was but according to police the suspect ran off and when the officer caught up with the suspect, there was a violent struggle. and that's when the officer fired his weapon killing the man. police say the officer shot the man in self-defense but we also heard from t
