i'm michelle griego. >> i'm kenny choi.bay area movie theater a young man finds a seat, looks up at the big screen andthe brutal attack happened at santa rosa roxy theater around gets stand4 p.m. .yesterday. police believe that the crime was random. the 21-year-old had his eyes on the big screen when a man with a knife approached him from behind and stabbed him several times. soon the suspect ran for the exit and horrified movie-goers rushed to help the victim who was sent to the hospital. police acted quickly and arrested a 23-year-old suspect reportedly a drifter who had been staying in town for a couple of months. the movie playing in the attack was the shallows about sharks preying on surfers. one person said on facebook she didn't even know there had been a stabbing until staff evacuated the room. but others were reportedly very rattled because they did watch as the frightening encounter unfolded. police say that this crime might be linked to another random fatal stabbing that happened monday in santa rosa. the victim

now it's stuck in my head. ,,,, and i'm kenny choi.co police department could take a maj step today in its effort to restore the public's trust. ter anne makovec >>> good morning. it's wednesday, june 1. the san francisco police department could take a major step in the effort to restore the public's trust. anne makovec reports from the department with the plan to ee equipment officers with body cameras. >> this would be the first tangible step toward major reforms for the san francisco police department. the mayor's office and the police department have reached an agreement on the policy for the cameras. they made that announcement yesterday. the goal is transparency to capture transactions between citizens and police on patrol. the new agreement apparently settles the contentious issue over whether officers will be able to view the footage before filing written reports. we'll know more about the rules tonight but it is a debate that's been going on since last year. >> the whole purpose is to get at the truth. that's what we want. >>
