we have kiet do live on how this unfolded. first and trimble road, one of the busiest intersections in san jose. it opened up a few hours ago and we have learned that the san jose police will go into great detail later today on what led to that shooting itself but for now here's what we know. it is the suspect, mark morasky, along rack sheet in 2012 for carjacking and two armed rafters -- armed robbers. they were in the suv, he and a woman, and they jumped out, carjack the ups truck. they took the ups driver hostage in the suspect drove the ups truck north on highway 87 into our location now. at some point during the chase mark morasky allegedly fired shots at officers hitting the patrol cars and that chase went on for eight miles and come to an end that first and trimble road after spike strips shredded the tires. within minutes they rested the female suspect in the ups driver was safely released but the suspect used to surrender. for over an hour mark morasky set in the ups truck making hand signals and talking on his phone.
