kira? >>> vianey, thanks. we'll see you soon. this morning as mentioned we are following dozens of fires erupting across the bay area. many likely caused by illegal fourth of july fireworks. all but one official fireworks displays were called off this year to stop the spread of covid-19. it appears people made their own shows igniting fires across the bay. and breaking news out of the south bay where families are being evacuated because of a 100-acre fire in morgan hill. cal fire is still battling this brush fire near anderson lake east of morgan hill. this video is from overnight where at least 25 homes are being threatened by what's being called the park fire. east dunn avenue is closed. the fire ignited around midnight. >> the fire started moving uphill. difficult access for fire crews. our objectives are to keep it from crossing the ridge. >> evacuations are in place. cal fire was awaiting sun rise so they could deploy air tankers and make aerial drops. we have a crew there as cal fire uses their planes hoping to make headway

kira? >>> we are seeing a surge of coronavirus cases in the bay area and now local leaders are scaling back reopening plans. nearly the entire bay area is on the state's watch list because of the surge in cases. we showed you this yesterday morning and it remains the same. the only exemption is san mateo county. because of that a big draw for people looking for services they can't get at home. some people even driving across the bay area just for a haircut. san mateo county might not stay off the state watch list for much longer. the county is seeing more new covid cases why the leaders fear the state will put the county on the watch list for a matter of days. >> there appears to us that the county early next week may be on that watch list. that's a direct result of our issues around new cases. >> the chief of san mateo county health issued this statement saying, while we are not currently on this list, our case rate of 101.2 cases per 100,000 in the population likely will put us on the lis

i'm kira klapper.rologist rob mayeda is in this morning with a look at our microclimate forecast. hey, rob. good to see you. >> likewise. >>> you know, what we're seeing outside in these two city camera views is just summer summed up in the bay area. you've got the fog and the misty skies around san francisco to start off the morning. cooler temperatures closer to the coast today. as you head into san jose, that's where the sun is. also a little bit of smoke in the air and that's something we will have to deal with for another day, especially around the interior east bay and santa. moderate levels of smoke pollution with that smoke advisory for at least one more day today. notice the temperatures starting in the 50s and 60s. heading to lunchtime we will see 80s inland, especially towards the tri-valley. near san jose, notice how san francisco and oakland stay in the 60s and 70s, but farther inland down towards morgan hill, livermore, concord, into the 90s today. though tomorrow we begin to see a strong

i'm kira klapper. vianey arana joins us with a look at your microclimate forecast. hi, vianey. >>> hi there, kira. it's going to be such a nice day. starting with mostly clear skies. you can see the low clouds hanging out over san francisco. the big topic today will be just how hot it's going to get. for the first half of our morning, which is between now and 11:00 a.m., we remain mild in the 60s and 70s. look at how quickly we warm up. between 1:00 and 3:00 we'll start to see the peak heat. check out the south bay, 90s. where you see the purple hues, triple digit temperatures for areas like concord, fairfield and antioch through the afternoon. we're still seeing the high pressure dominating over the area. as you know anytime we see high pressure with hot temperatures it also drives us out. we'll see an increase in onshore winds this afternoon to breezy and gusty at times. pair that up with dry conditions, and that means elevat less than 20%. i'll be monitoring closely. back to you, see you soon, vian.

i am joined with kira lawrence from the learning disability charity, mencap. good afternoon.and the importance of wearing them? for some people with a learning disability, it might be quite distressing to wear one, so there is an exemption, where people don't have to wear one if they are distressed or finding it difficult to wear one. and so, you think that is the right thing to do, the right decision by the government? we believe that there should be some awareness around people with a learning disability, and in exception of not having to wear one if it made somebody very distressed, but hopefully, if we can have the government easily guidance people in shops will understand that actually, people with a learning disability would find it more difficult to wear one. yes, of course. i suppose it is about public understanding and awareness as well, because i am thinking about, if someone is out and about shopping day on not wearing one because of this exemption, we all know, we have started doing it, rightly or wrongly, we have watched people look at someone on public transport
