kira? >>> we'll see you then, vianey. thanks so much. happening this morning a monumental moment in the making. the first doses of pfizer's vaccine are being boxed up and ready to be shipped out to hospitals across the country. new video from early this morning as workers at pfizer's michigan headquarters began packing up the long-awaited covid-19 vaccine. the first truckloads just minutes ago left the plant. the potentially lifesaving cargo is being carefully transported in subarctic coolers. pfizer has confirmed that all 50 states will receive some portion of the first round of shipments. an estimated 2.9 million doses will be distributed within a week. the first doses will be given to the first americans in just the next couple of days. that number will ramp up to 40 million doses by the end of the year. the vaccine rollout comes at a crucial time as the u.s. has surpassed 16 million. ucsf medical center is among the first hospitals awaiting the vaccine this week. that along with stanfor

kira: hi, i am kira garcia. i work here at the lower east side tenement museum in new york city. we are going to take a look at our historic tenement building elton about 7,000 immigrants 1863. lived here between the years of 1863 and 1935. what you see around you is a mix of original architectural details and some things that came a little bit later in the building's history. throughout the years, our building changed of course over time. in the year it was built, there were virtually no housing laws on the books yet here in new york city. so the gentleman who built it , a german immigrant was , basically working on his own. he is putting together a building he would see fit to live in. in fact he did live here in the early years of the building with his family. but compared to what we're used to today, it was a pretty difficult place to live. there was no source of interior light. there was no running water. no plumbing, no toilets, sinks, showers or tubs. and there was not a designated number of windows that mr. glockner had to provide in his building. so we're going to take a

i'm kira klapper. vianey arana has a look at your microclimate forecast.pouring on my drive in this morning. >>> yeah, we are getting a good lion line of showers pushing through. 54 degrees in san jose. you're right, you can see the rain, a welcome sight. how about this view from our storm ranger radar. you can see some heavier downpours. that's where you see the yellow and the orange colors begin to light up. now as we continue throughout our morning, we're going to see this system continue to move north to south with light to moderate rain. heavy pockets of rain at times depending on where you are. another thing we're monitoring very closely is going to be their king tides, a coastal flood advisory will be in effect starting at 7:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. a high surf advisory as well. we could see waves upwards of 25 feet and localized flooding near high tides could happen especially into the mid morning. so we'll be looking at this very closely. in addition to that a winter storm warning as well heading to the sierra. the high surf advisory kicks in at
