career kira klapper is live with the details. kira. >> good morning, katie. it is still dark but i will step out owe is you can see this big garage door behind me. we are in selma. in garage door is what the crew was just beginning to tag when they were caught. police came down and they were beginning to outline what they were going to color in with their graffiti. but a neighbor called after she heard them about 3:30 this morning. we have video when police arrived and ten were arrested, 10 adults and 1 juvenile. what surprised police is these people have backpacks filled and filled with graffiti kansas. 30 kansas of spray. this is unprecedented to discover this big of a graffiti ring. they also had large markers and pens inside their backpacks. san francisco police say this is an unusual bust but they are pleased to take steps to put an end to tagging across the city. six months ago they arrested four people who were responsible for many cases of vanneddism and also here in and around selma. they continue to have graffiti problems here so they are glad to ma

kira klapper is live with a look at the damage. >> katie, neighbors and business owners here tell me they are so frustrated with the amount of graffiti going up in their neighborhood, really defacing all of their private property. take a look at this behind me. it was a big arrest, too, for san francisco police. eleven people. the people were in the process of tagging this garage you are looking at here in soma as they were caught. they were just finished drawing the outline of their mural had neighbors called police. we have a video about 3:15 this morning when police arrested ten adults and one juvenile. they had backpacks with, get this, 52 kansas of spray paint inside. people were surprised to find that amount of spray paint. police tell me this so-called crew had stickers with their monikers on them. that's how they are able to sort of sign their graffiti. in total there were ten males, one female. san francisco police ltd. juan daniels tells me some have prior offenses for graffiti. >> the juvenile was cited out to their paren

kira klapper, what do you have to report? >> cease committee caught fire -- chez panisse caught fire early this morning. the world renowned chez panisse indicate fire here in berkeley this morning. we have video from two hours ago. crews arrived on the scene and found the fire starts outside and quickly spread to the second floor. the kitchen, though, is in the rear of the building so it is mysterious as to what started the fire the no one was here at the time. firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to next door businesses. they are actually touching the restaurant. crews told abc7 news this morning. >> at this point, it appears to be an exterior fire that was working its way on the interior. our fire investigators arrived on the scene and said they would do a further investigation and it will be, they will be able to determine if it was completely on the exterior or some other cause. >> many questions remain, the investigation, of course, is in the early stages here at alice waters restaurant. since 1991 it

reporting live, kira klapper, abc7 news. >> thank you, kira. a violent bank robbery suspect who was released from jail in richmond is the subject of an fbi manhunt this morning. police are confident they arrested the right man, but the man had to be released because authorities missed a deadline to charge him. abc news reporter allen wong explains why he is feared even more now. >> police say this is 22-year-old gary casdell fite jr., he jumped over the countter in pinole, stuck a gun to the teller's head and made off with more than $3,000. he was quickly arrested but was back on the streets just three days later because of a missed deadline. law enforcement has 72 hours to file charges after an arrest or the suspect is released. the workday ends officially at 5:00 p.m. fite was arrested at 4:56 on friday, which means the district attorney had to file charges by 5:00 p.m. on tuesday. for some reason they thought they had until wednesday. the contra costa county sheriff's department said fite did not have any outstanding warrants, so they had to

kira klapper has new information from the newsroom. >> we learned the victim, 24-year-old, was just two months into an internship at the sanctuary. she was mailed by a lion yesterday. we have part of the 9-1-1 call that followed the death of the intern and the lion. >> animal is contained to the enclosure. the lion has been taken care of. >> police say around 12:30 she was attacked by the four-year-old african lion. another park worker tried to distract the cat as it mauled her but nothing worked. responding sheriff deputies found her severely injured and they had to shoot the animal in order to reach the woman. but she died at the scene. her father spoke with use over the phone and wonder idea his daughter was in the end closure in the first place, something investigators want to know, as well. >> how she ever got inside the cage or why she was inside the cage, she made it clear they don't let anyone in the cage. >> her father told abc7 news he feared getting a call like there but he says it was his daughter's dream to work with big cats and this internship was a step toward getting a
