ktvu's kraig debro is near the park street bridge where you can actually see it bulging, right, kraig? >> reporter: you can from certain angles. it's on forge street just behind me a few steps from the park street bridge. it's quiet right now but during the commute hour it gets really crowded. people going to 880 or 23rd avenue or 29th avenue in oakland and the wall that caused the closure of several roads last night is now dangerously close to falling and causing another huge mess. police reopened the street around 10:00 p.m. last night. it was closed earlier in the evening because of precarious tilt of one of the walls in this building. the space used to be rented out for storage and musicians needing a place to practice. that all changed a couple of years ago. take a look at these pictures. a tremendous fire broke out here a couple years ago. i believe it was 2007. flames could be seen for miles. ktvu was the first to show you these flames back then. co-workers coming to work at 3:30 in the morning actually spotted the glow and alerted our news desk. nobody was hurt in the fire but

ktvu's kraig debro is out there right now. how does it look this morning, kraig? >> reporter: dave, ford street isn't open. a truck moving through here right now. it's not just trucks. there are several cars that use this street. people coming from alameda across the park street bridge into oakland through ford going north on 880 or south on 880, either way it's very important. so far we have not heard from city officials as to what they've done to prevent the problem from happening again. we could be looking at a problem with the morning commute as you watch more cars go through this area now. that's exactly what happened last night. a big problem. ford street closed down because one of the buildings here has a wall like the leaning tower of pisa. traffic had to be diverted because of threat it might fall into the street. the street reopened about 10:00 p.m. last night. it's not clear what was done to make the wall safe enough to warrant the reopening. a man who works in this area says he thinks the weather played a role in what happened to the wall. >> i think i
