good morning, kris. >> hi there, laura. bay area if you are not all charged up, you're going to want to plug in your phones and laptops, anything that you need to get through the day just in case that power goes out at your house. here's a live look at pg&e's psps, public safety power shutoff map. the pink triangles where the lights are already out. 51,000 customers will be impacted in the bay area. napa, sonoma, solano counties could be impacted. that 51,000 figure is for the entire area. now the -- in addition to charging your electronics you may want to make sure your gas is topped off because without power some gas stations will be forced to close. preventing wildfires by shutting off power is a new way of life. if and when pg&e shuts off the power the lights will be out for at least 24 hours because crews have to go out and inspect those lines before pg&e can once again flip the switch. however, pg&e is giving folks warning and our consumer team did create a how to make sure you are ready in case your power goes out. w

nbc bay area's kris sanchez joins us live from that scene. kris, talk to us about why it's taking so long for people to get back home. >> reporter: well, marcus, apparently there was more than one gas line break. there was an eight-inch line that had a break in it, and there was a 12-inch line that had a break in it, and that's a lot of gas in the area. i want to take you up to see from the sky nbc bay area sky ranger over the scene of that repair area. we now know 325 homes and businesses in that ten-block area have been under evacuation order since 10:00, yesterday morning when pg&e says a contractor broke those gas lines. pg&e decided not to add another 15 homes to that evacuation order as they were considering this morning, but we know that the folks who live and work in the area will not be able to return until at least early this evening. and 40 to 50 of those homes won't have any gas service until each one is checked one by one by firefighters. >> yeah. so there were multiple gas lines involved in the area that -- that the damage occur

i am kris sanchez.fighters trying to get a handle on the cache fire in lake county that devastated one neighborhood shortly after it started yesterday. today in the bay's cierra johnson is live. this happened so fast. >> reporter: that's right, kris. right now i am in the community that clearlake at once was a mobile home park. there are no trailers standing and it's really just outlines and shells of what was here. the fire is 20% contained. in estimates 50 homes were destroyed in the fire, and 1,600 folks evacuated and another 800 on are standby. we are not hearing of any injuries right now but you can see a lot of property damage here in clearlake. >>> we will now talk to vianey who is giving us insight on the smoke. >> we are seeing another air quality advisory day. we saw the smoke drifting down into the northerly winds, bringing smoke into the bay area. we could see changes into the weekend. however, for today and tomorrow, the smoke is expected to stay, especially for portions of the santa rosa,
