good morning to you, kris and marcus.n northbound highway 101, which is shut down in both directions between the lawrence expressway and fair oaks avenue, and now that the sun is up, we've counted six cars involved in this deadly collision on the northbound side, and then a seventh car, at least one car, on the southbound side, so that comes to seven cars. sadly, three people were killed when this happened around 12:30 this morning. as far as the time for reopening, we expect this to be within the next hour, maybe hour and a half. there are wreckers out here that are getting in position to remove the cars, which means chp is wrapping up their investigation. as i mentioned, this happened around 12:30 this morning. what we believe happened is that one vehicle hit the center divide and sent concrete, part of that center divide into the southbound direction, and possibly a person was also ejected into the southbound direction, one of the people killed. so then you had the collision on the southbound direction and then you had

are police saying anything at this point, kris? >> they say they believe the person who was shot was, in fact, shot inside that car. antioch police say two people ran from the scene of that crash, and while officers and paramedics tried to save the driver's life, it was too late. this all happened in the parking lot of a 7-eleven store on hillcrest avenue, not far from highway 4. it was about 7:40 last night. officers found the driver in the seat of his car, not breathing. police say it appears he was shot at least once inside that dark gray toyota sedan. despite life-saving efforts, the driver did not survive. witnesses told police two people ran from the car after it crashed. they have not yet been found. the detectives with the violent crimes unit for antioch police are now handling the investigation, they are also working with witnesses to try to identify those suspects. but at this point, those two people who fled are still on the run. anyone with information is urged to call antioch police or provide it anonymously via text.
