our very own kristin volk is live in storm tracker 5. kristin, you're on the shoreway. that is an interesting road because of how close it is to the lake. what's going on? >> reporter: that's right, jason, these roads are not in great condition. i want to show you what they look like. we're going to turn the camera around. we are heading west on the shoreway. it is snowy, icy. roads, parts of them are snow covered. not a lot of traffic. the traffic that is out is going quite slow. they are fully staffed tonight with 75 to 90 trucks out here treating these roadways. their concern is the freezing temperature and treating the roads for ice. that sort of situation requires regularly. that's what they're telling us. to make matters worse we've got wind out here, and odot talks to us about what that wind is doing to make their job a little more difficult. >> the wind is very tricky particularly after we're seeing accumulation. you have a lot of blowing and drifting. on top of that, cold temperatures, and falling into nighttime. so bridges, overpasses, ramps, those are really

kristin volk is there. kristin, this happened as the man was leaving work. tracy. it was 4:30 in the afternoon on thursday when he left his job over there at the family avenue. he then walked to this bus stop where family and friends are gathered for this vigil, around he planned to head home. that's when police say two men jumped out of a car and jumped him. he was a father of two. his family described him as a and they told us he had turned his life around. tonight family and friends gathered back at the bus stop, leaving balloons, notes, and flowers behind, a much different plan than the gathering they had planned this weekend to celebrate dontez. he died of severed head trauma. now his mom is overwhelmed with pain. >> it's unbearable. i don't understand it. they robbed us. take what you take, but leave my child alone. they killed him. they stomped him in the head. they stomped him in the head until he was brain dead. >> reporter: police tell us they have very little information about the systems. all they know is that two black men wore dark clothing, and those

kristin volk is live in brunswick. windchill advisory in effect through noon tomorrow. it is down right frigid here. forgettable cold. it is frigid. the temperature is a mere 7 degrees. when you factor in the windchill, feels like negative 11. now normally schools would be closed due to that temperature tomorrow, but remember tomorrow is a holiday, so thankfully parents, teachers, students should not have to worry about that in the morning. this advisory is in in effect for areas south and west of cleveland. it is a combination of strong wind and the cold temperatures that creates this dangerous condition. frostbite can set in in minutes and hypothermia is a real possibility. three things to keep in mind. keep your skin dry. insulate your body and block the wind. by doing that you can layer your clothing. the outer layer should be tightly woven and wind resistant. if you have wool or silk to use as your inner layer of clothing, that will hold the body heat in. your hat, scarf, gloves, boots. that is a sign your body is losing heat. we are shivering out here right now so
