ktvu's jade hernandez is live. you got an eerie description of what happened inside when the shooting started from a relative. >> reporter: we spoke to a brother whose sister was shot and brought here. she told him the gunman gave orders and opened if i were when he was ignored. we watched as they rolled him thine emergency room. she was conscious and alert. >> doing good. doing okay. there is a couple other people injured. >> reporter: she was shot in the arm. >> her friend was shot and another guy got shot. >> reporter: he shared this picture. she called her brother immediately after being shot. she told him the man dropped out of class three months before but was in the class today. >> he grabbed the lady and said everybody get against the board and nobody did he startedshooting and they scattered -- started shooting and they scattered. >> reporter: 5 victims were brought here. >> we did a quick triage for external situation, got folks mobilized, and we had what we needed. >> reporter: they are relieved she will

ktvu's alex savage says the question is why? >> reporter: investigators ran string from the home to a hillside, calcuting the -- calculating the bullets. she was home at the time but luckily in a back room, out of the line of fire. she heard something pop. >> i thought it was light bulb and then there was more and more shots. i really didn't know what was happening. >> reporter: several bullets came through and lodged in their molding. others in the siding. investigators worked to retrieve them. this happened in a neighborhood near olive avenue. it shattered the sense of peace they feel here. >> bizarre. >> for a period of time you have a sense of disbelief. what was that about? you can't process it. i mean you process it but it doesn't make sense. >> reporter: police say it is clear the house was targeted. she can't think of anyone with a grudge. >> we have a quiet life. we go to church and work and we are home. very quiet. can't think of anybody. >> reporter: police say they don't have a description on the shooter but the peop

[ music playing ] >> reporter: they continue their musical memorial for oikos university students. it has been three weeks since the gunman killed 7. >> they started today. 15 other students resumed study elsewhere. >> students are traumatized. >> reporter: the school is working out a contract to lease space for the students. >> keith: i got a couple faculty that feel they can't come back. >> reporter: only 17 students returned in addition to the instructor. 5 students could not. >> it is hard. i wish everybody the best. >> they are doing well. >> our goal is, we will prevail and we will continue. >> reporter: students left school not wanting to stop. at the jail, the gunman, one goh ko has

ktvu's john sasaki has been monitoring the search and joins us live from the s.a.t. francis yacht club with details. >> reporter: ken, the coast guard says the race started here and headed out west and 27 miles out to the farallone islands and that is where things went wrong. from news chopper 2, one long time sailor told me that the water off the coast was chop yes and in big swells that the boat known as "the slow speed chase" grounded itself on rocks and turtled, as boaters call it or turned over in water. eight people went into the water in that crash and the coast guard was able to save three of them, a couple of them off the rock and recover one body, but crews are still searching for four people from the vessel. >> the 38' sailing vessel put off an electronic position indicating beacon that the coast guard picked up on and those are usually in emergency cases. and that point we also contacted our segmenter san francisco office who received a may day call. >> reporter: officials have declined to to comment on anything having do with this incident today. there a

ktvu us a claudine wong is coffering this story. >>> 6:04. a desperate search will resume in hopes of missing sierra lamar. missing morgan hill teen. why will this morning's search take place south of her home? lorraine has more. >> reporter: sheriffs' deputies continue their search today south of here in gilroy and san martin. you can see in morgan hill flyers are up still encouraging the public to keep an eye out. this is video of the last time volunteers searched sunday. today about 20 members of the santa clara county sheriff search and rescue unit will be looking for any sign of sierra lamar. they will bring three human remain detection canines to help in the search. the 15-year-old has been missing 20 days now. more than 6, 000 personnel hours have been dedicated to the case including local and federal law enforcement. the teen's parents are finding hope and getting help from a young woman who was once a kidnap victim herself. >> the best thing was hearing marlene tell me i was able to give her hope. if i can do that then i'll be here e

ktvu's eric rasmussen. >> reporter: ken we learned this father was also a girl's soccer coach and beloved member of the afghan community and tonight we can show you a memorial of flowers and candles is growing where this man and his two fiscal years were riding their bikes when a young driver lost control, hit them a fire hydrant and slammed into the side of the billboard. a crowd gathered to remember a man and his daughters killed in a way that no one could have imagined. >> this is a huge, huge loss for the community. he was a love, loving father. >> police say the man and his two daughters were riding their bikes on a wide sidewalk in concord when a 17-year-old behind the wheel of this white cadillac escalade was speeding out of control. police say the suv crashed into a fire hydrant, hit the family of three and then the side of a building. witnesses say there was nothing that they could do to help the badly injured father. me and several other people were trying to tell him to hang on and the fire department will be here, but it was obvious that he wasn't going to make it. >> reporter

ktvu has more on where the woman was during the attack. and how she is dealing with what happened. >> reporter: and we were unable to reach that administrator directly today. but her friend and roommate told me the director of the nursing program at oikos university is heartbroken over what happened. the woman believes the suspected gunman in the case was angry with her and came to the school to find her. the school administrator who believes she was the intended target in monday's shooting rampage, ellen cervellon, says that the suspected gunman, one l. goh dropped out of oikos university last fall and was upset about not being given a full tuition refund. her friend was bothered before by him. >> she said there was somebody there that kind of made her feel funny. you know? kind of scared her a little bit. >> reporter: but her friend said that ellen cervellon never talked about any direct threats. the nursing program director was not on school campus that day, but was working that day teaching off site. her friend said that ellen cervello
