cnn's kyung lah live for us in waco this morning. good evening, kyung. so many bikers charged from opposing gangs and each being held on $1 million bond. how are law enforcement, how are they handling these guys right now? >> reporter: well to quote the sheriff, line 'em up. that's essentially what they're doing. this is all happening inside the jail. 170 of them. you can imagine the logistical challenge. what they had to do they lined them up here they brought them to the jail they had to book them charge them and make sure that each of them was arraigned. all of this happening inside the jail. the sheriff today also defending a $1 million bail on each of these suspects. here's what he told us. is this a message to the other biker gangs from this county? >> very definitely. you know you want to cause this kind of trouble, you want to come into mclennan county and stab people shoot people beat them up you need to think twice. you need to do it somewhere else. >> reporter: at last check, the sheriff says that none of the people who have been arrested have

cnn's kyung lah has more. >> reporter: nadir soofi is a pakistani source. he has a pakistani father and a mother as a white american. when they divorced he and his brother moved to pakistan. he went to a school in islamabad. he and his brother decided to leave the country. we know that soofi had a pizza shop here and a son. we know more about elton simpson. the other gunmen. he has a criminal record. in 2011, he was convicted of lying to authorities. at the time, they tried to stick him with an international terrorism charge. that did not come to fruition. his family is not muslim. we hear from his mosque that he converted around high school age. although he did have that conviction in 2011 the president of his mosque says that he did not have any displays of violence. he did not have any warning signs that he could see. investigators have now combed through the apartment. they have been walking out with box upon box of evidence. they are trying to make the connection between what happened with these men and how they turned no lone wolves. >> thank you, kyu

we get more from kyung lah in waco. >> reporter: good morning, christine and john investigators haveontinued to go car to car. what they're pulling automatic are even more weapons. we saw them pull out handgun, weapons and a bulletproof vest. 100 weapons, they say, that number now continuing to climb. meanwhile, a manhunt today ended up in a peaceful resolution. there were three suspects according to the sheriff's department that were released on a lower bond. their bond was set at $50,000 because they weren't arrested here in this parking lot. they were arrested just outside the perimeter. when the police found out they had a lower bond their bond was revoked. there was a previous manhunt. those three suspects were brought in. their bond set at $1 million just like the other 170 suspects. and we're also learning more details from the police about how all of this began. they mentioned this started over a parking spot. well it may turn out that one of the bikers had his foot run over. that it could have started from something that simple. nine people killed according to a preliminary

a lot to get to starting with our kyung lah in waco. so the three bikers who were released from jail on bond, wanted? >> reporter: what happened here is that those three were arrested outside the perimeter, according to the waco police department. they were heading this way and then they were arrested. their case number didn't exactly correlate with this large group's case number. so their bond was set at $50,000. nothing wrong with that. they paid the amount and they walked. it does not appear to be an error. but when a police officer connected those three bikers with this large group, the judge set their bond matching the bond here at $1 million. their $50,000 bond that was revoked. there was a warrant put out for their arrest. two of them are now in custody. the police feel very comfortable they will have the third in custody soon anderson. >> and kyung, in terms of the investigation, what are you learning about exactly where this all started on sunday? >> reporter: what police are figuring out, as we talk to more people and they col

kyung lah joins us from phoenix where these guys were roommates. >> reporter: they were roommates inhis apartment complex behind me. we're learning more about the two men. elton simpson is considered at least by authorities a loosely much more of the ring leader. if you look at his high school images, what you get is more of a typical american upbringing. he played basketball in high school. he was a captain of his basketball team. he converted to islam in high school and there wasn't apparent signs in the early years until he became much more of an adult and then that tweet where he did pledge allegiance to the leader of isis. as far as nadir soofi he grew up partially in pakistan according to a source that knows the family. he went to school there at a prestigious private school and he grew up there after his parents did divorce. here in arizona he's known as a pizza shop owner. he has a sun who is quite young. his grandmother spoke to cnn affiliate kprc and doesn't believe it was grandson that was an instigator but the other gunman, simpson. here's what she says. >> whoever he was

kyung lah reporting live from phoenix. >>> the gunmen didn't come close to entering the building in garland, texas. they were taken down by a lone police officer. ed lavandera has that side of the story. good morning, ed. >> reporter: fbi investigators finished up their investigation on the street. this is where everything unfolded yesterday. this is where you saw all of the evidence and fbi investigators working. you see where those orange cones are. that's where the two gunmen were trying to drive in to the civic center here in garland. as you can tell it's close to to 200 yards away from the entrance. didn't even make it close. there was a set up where two officers one wounded in the leg, and the other officer whose identity has not been released was the one that fired shots that quickly took out both gunmen. both gunmen bringing high powered assault rifles and we're told the officer that took them both out did it with a .45 glock handgun. everything unfolded very quickly. definitely overpowered but somehow this police officer was able to get off quick deadly shoots that ended the event
