firefighters have cleared the scene hire at 689 lafayette in seabrook. according to the fire chief, it was around quarter to one this morning when firefighters were called to the apartment complex. they found heavy smoke in a first floor apartment in building number three. now it is a 12-unit building. 11 of the units were occupied according to the chief. he says most of the tenants were out of the building. they did search the building. that's when discovered the deceased person inside the first floor apartment and where the fire had started. now the chief says it took them about a half an hour to put the fire out. no firefighters were injured. it remained a one alarm fire. right now investigators with the state fire marshal's office are at the scene helping to assist and lead the investigation into the cause of the fire. the chief says at this point, they don't know how the fire started. as for the rest of the occupants of the apartment building, they went to hotels and anticipated they should be allowed back in the building later today. reporting live

a police chase ended in front of lafayette high school prompting a lockdown at two schools. police say one of the suspects jumped out of a stolen car and ran out on to the campus. a chase began that ended at the high school. police found one suspect near the high school gym and another in a backyard toolshed. >>> a person was hit by a truck on interstate 80 in san francisco this morning. was also shot. investigators say a ford pickup truck struck the pedestrian around 5:00 a.m. near the westbound 80 and 101 connector. that person was taken to the hospital and later died. >>> two women had to crawl out from their overturned car after it collided with a semi truck in san jose this morning. this is around 4:00 a.m. on 101 southbound near brokaw road. the women's suv flipped over into a ditch. the u.p.s. truck ended up on its chp closed lanes for traffic. it lasted for six hours as crews -- nobody including the truck driver was seriously injured. fire officials say one of the vehicles cut the other one off. they're not sure which one cut the other off. >>> coming up at 4:00, don
