firefighters have cleared the scene hire at 689 lafayette in seabrook. according to the fire chief, it was around quarter to one this morning when firefighters were called to the apartment complex. they found heavy smoke in a first floor apartment in building number three. now it is a 12-unit building. 11 of the units were occupied according to the chief. he says most of the tenants were out of the building. they did search the building. that's when discovered the deceased person inside the first floor apartment and where the fire had started. now the chief says it took them about a half an hour to put the fire out. no firefighters were injured. it remained a one alarm fire. right now investigators with the state fire marshal's office are at the scene helping to assist and lead the investigation into the cause of the fire. the chief says at this point, they don't know how the fire started. as for the rest of the occupants of the apartment building, they went to hotels and anticipated they should be allowed back in the building later today. reporting live
