fox5's nick lagrange has the latest. a fight at a las vegas strip parking garage early friday morning led to the shooting of three people, two of whom died, police said. according to lt. dan mcgrath, of las vegas metro police, a fight took place on the third floor of the third floor of the miracle mile shops parking garage about 1:20 minutes later, police received reports of a shooting on harmon avenue near aldebaran avenue, which is in the opposite side of the strip from the miracle mile shops garage. mcgrath said a vehicle drove into the cosmopolitan woman inside who had both been shot. the man and woman were rushed to university medical center, where the woman died. the man was stabilized at the hospital. according to lt. mcgrath, there were also multiple reports of a woman lying in the middle of the street near harmon and aldebaran. the woman was rushed to umc, where she also died. police said they were able to confirm the vehicle was connected to the fight at the miracle mile shops garage through surveillance video.

fox five's nick lagrange joins us live from metro headquarters on m-l-k with a recap of what happened, and who was left without the help they needed. nick? dave and maria -- the call center system went down at about 3:30, tuesday afternoon. both metro's 9-1-1 and 3-1-1 lines were out of service, until just before ten o'clock tuesday afternoon. it's especially puzzling, since a preventative measure -- in the form of a 600- thosuand-dollar project -- was taken just last year to make sure this didn't happen. metro says its calls were re- routed to the henderson and north las vegas police departments, during the outage. metro says those calling 9-1-1 were experiencing long wait time and those calling 3-1-1 were getting busy signals. metro gets about 3,000 calls each day. and officers were adamant that those needing help would get it. however, one man -- juan juarez -- couldn't get through to dispatchers when he needed them most. juarez' home caught on fire near charleston and lamb during the outage. "me and several neighbors tried to call 911. however, the system was down or they were not

lagrange has investigators think this fire was started. jason and monica -- this is the home at address 52 sherill circle. that address may sound familiar, since there was another fire here back in november of last year. the only difference is, that november fire yielded four injuries, one death, and an ongoing homicide investigation. this fire happened at about 10:45 wednesday night. it's a one-story home, and images las vegas fire and rescue tweeted last night show heavy flames engulfing in about 20 minutes with no damage to surrounding homes, and no injuries. back in november -- crews put out a fire at this same address, where four people were injured. the body of a man was later found inside the home at that time -- investigators said all of the surviving victims appeared to have been restrained inside the home before the blaze was intentionally started. they also said it appeared the man -- whose body was found inside the house -- was the victim of a homicide. speculating as to there is a connection between that november fire and this
