brockway was found near his mother's body north of lake tahoe.eft him with a note and a volunteer organization called the bear league. the state fish and wildlife department gave the okay to transport him to the wildlife center. >> a little thin and lethargic. >> brockway is getting some fluids and his prognosis is good. the wildlife center is run by tom and sheryl millhan who is have been caring for bear cubs the last 14 years. the bears here now are all five to six months old from all over the state. this summer more bears than usual are showing up in populated areas. because of the drought. but there's no way to know whether that's why so many orphaned bears have been found. >> we just haven't learned to talk bear yet. >> we introduced you to the first orphaned cub of the season last april. she was just five pounds and had to be bottle fed. the goal with all the cubs is to release them into the wild. so now, three months later, she's not getting any human contact. we did get a peek at her, through a window. she's up to more than 20 pounds, but

over more than 30 years, lake tahoe wildlife care has hemmed an encredible 24,000 wild animals. the rescue center cares for a huge variety of injured and orphaned creatures and they don't play favorites. >> everything is so special in its own way. >> this is the only place in the state licensed to care for bear cubs. they have nine right now. >> every year is different. >> the goal is to release every animal back into the wild. the nonprofit center was started by sheryl and tom who run it out of their own home in lake tahoe. >> we couldn't afford any buildings. >> sheryl is a former nurse turned wild animal experts. their backyard is packed with custom animal enclosures, created for creatures that like to climb or need room to fly or a peaceful place to recuperate. >> a yellow bellied marmot. >> there is a constant stream every day. >> he has missing tail feathers. i would say the cat got him. >> reporter: volunteers hem with feeding which can require a lot of patience. teeny animals eat only a tiny amount at a time so they have to be fed constantly. this little guy is a two-wee

you see the thunderstorm around the lake tahoe area.e're seeing thunderstorm moving toward south lake tahoe area. echo summit. that's what we will see tomorrow night as well, the tropical moisture clears the area. fog along the coast. that fog will be a player as we move into the evening hours. that will start your day off, partly cloudy. 96 in antioch, like i said the humidities are high. there's the fog along the coast. it will be warmer tomorrow, the fog trailing down. that's because it gets pushed along the hedlands. you have a shallow marine layer. it's not going to have the big push. tomorrow you will have a much warmer day, especially in the inland bay valley. there's an onshore bay breeze. there's little change in the forecast, even with the humidity. fog will be pitched down. hot and humid. look at the temperature. your mid-70's all over the bay, over the east bay hills in the upper 80s, low 90s and upper 90s with low 100s tomorrow. very, very warm, 97 for a high in vacaville tomorrow. the five-day forecast, more humidity tomor

heavy rain around truckee, south and north lake tahoe. for us we have lots of fog now. not showing up on this imagery but they're saying all the fog is all the way inland in the lafayette area. it's going to go across the bay into hayward. the usual suspects where you had it this morning you're going to have it again tomorrow morning. and temperatures tomorrow, are going to be a lot like today. we got a lot of wind blowing some very cool air inland. we have gusts to 35 miles per hour in fairfield. the winds are blowing pretty hard. we've got wind gusts about 18 miles per hour in hayward. cool mild day again tomorrow. fire danger takes another break. we have a tkpwaot respite from the fire danger this week. a lot of fog in the morning. this is 6:00 a.m. friday morning. that's a pretty aggressive fog footprint trying to indicate low cloud and moisture up into the sacramento valley. remember today, that's tomorrow. as we head into the bay area weekend there are some changes at 10:45. we'll come back and dial in specific temperatures for the area tomorrow and specific tempe

moving to the east we have a redding in warning until 9:00 tomorrow for south lake tahoe and possible thunderstorms. expect to see thunderstorms and maybe dry lightning so with the red flag warning, gusty conditions and dry lightning, and we up to 36-miles-per-hour gusts in fairfield and elsewhere, seeing a little bit more of a breeze than yesterday, when it was calm, cooling things down. as we look toward the embarcadero and the ferry building you can see the flags are unfurled but you can see it is breezy and that going to give us 55 temperature reading in san francisco and oakland is 58, and san carlos is 61 and in the upper 50's for south bay and half moon bay at 55 degrees. the fog will rush in and bring us patchy drizzle and it will burn off revealing sunshine so the fog will peel back but mostly we are in the 60's around the bay and 80's in the south bay and still going to reach 90-degree temperatures inland. cooler for most of us but still warm for others. alameda fair is back in business after being off year. they here untilup 6. have fun and take out the family with an 81-de

up in the sierra up through lake tahoe and a repeat performance tomorrow.fact some of the action, some of the moisture is going to be heading into northern california tomorrow. you're already seeing the high clouds in the east bay and by the shoreline already seeing the low clouds too. so tomorrow, is going to be a mostly cloudy day around the bay area. not cold, but not much sun. 78 right now at concord and san francisco 71 degrees and up in santa rosa it's 71 as we look at the golden gate bridge. by 8:00 tonight the temperatures will drop into the upper 60s inland and the low 60s around the bay. it's going to be cloudy by the coast and you can see the large scale picture here of all of the thunderstorms that are popping over the serovar and a tendency to come this way. we have a chance of a thunderstorm? not much. maybe not south bay. -- in the south bay. maybe but probably not for us but we will see the high clouds all being pushed north by this high pressure. west side of the high. that southeasterly flow in the atmosphere. coastline is going to be cool

. >>> a lake tahoe wildlife center is packed with orphan bear cubs right now, the most they have evers early in the summer. the cubs are getting great care but no one noise why there are so many or fans. here's news anchor cheryl jennings. >> there are nine orphan bear cubs at lake tahoe wildlife center. this is the only place in louisiana c licensed to care for wildlife cubs and they keep coming. >> it's been nonstop the last month. >> this is the newest arrival. he's about to get a sedative so he can get a medical exam. she was found near her mother's body. he was left with a note. the state, fish and wildlife department gave the okay to transport him to the wildlife center. >> a little thin, a little lethargic. >> he's getting fluids now and his prognosis is good. the wildlife center is run by tom and cheryl, who have been caring for bear cubs the last 14 years. the bears here now are all five to six months old from all over the state. this summer more bears than usual are showing up in populated areas because of drought but there's no way to know if that's why so many orphan bears
