campus way north is closed between -- i'm sorry, route 1 is closed between campus road and lakeland and this is because of this fatal pedestrian incident that happened about an hour ago. we're told that the person struck was a woman. she was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead. the vehicle and the driver stayed on scene. th for awhile you had north and southbound traffic blocked but now only the northbound traffic is being blokd. it's also effecting some metro bus routes as well so if you take a metro bus up and down route 1 in the morning, you may experience, may be experiencing some delays as the buses have to work around this one block closure while police investigate this incident. judging from the scene here it doesn't appear the person was struck in the crosswalk because the cruisers would not be parked there. that would then be an active part of the scene but as you can see there there's a lot of evidence collection going on there and reconstruction as is usually the case when there's a fatal pedestrian incident here. now the university of maryland and route 1 had this issu
