recently, american history tv sat down with senator lamar alexander to talk about his early campaigns and relationships with presidents from richard nixon to bill clinton. he recalled his walk across tennessee as part of his successful 1978 gubernatorial campaign. he share the stories behind political mementos in this washington dc senate office. senator alexander: my walk across tennessee was in 1978. i began on january 26. i walked east until march 1. the big three foot snowstorm. turned around and headed west to memphis. it took me until july 6. 1000 miles. i shook 1000 hands a day and spent every weeknight with someone whom i did not know. i grew up in the great smoky's. our scout troop, every weekend we would be in the moment. i love the outdoors. so do most tennesseans. we have more people with hunting and fishing licenses that boat and republican primaries. when i ran for governor in 1974, i lost. my wife said, "you'll lose again if you run the way you did the first time," because i was just going around in my blue suit. what i was thinking about how i run a campaign that puts

how is lamar doing internationally. -- walmart doing internationally?ell me what markets are thriving and where would you think you might need to reconsider strategy? doug: canada and mexico, they are bigger businesses, and they are doing great. our team in the u.k. is innovating. china is imparted for the longer term. we have a little over 400 doors there and an interest in an e-commerce company in shanghai and are learning how to bring digital and physical together in china just as we do in the united states. that is going to be really important for us in the long term. he also have several markets in latin america. we are in 28 countries. we also opened our first store in kenya. olivia: talk to me about china. the store traffic numbers for china were disappointing. doug: it relates to hypermarkets, we are growing our market share. not only does traffic matter but also the ticket. e-commerce is the big story in china. i am really glad that we have an acid there to learn more about that business. that was walmart's president and ceo doug macmillan. it

our bomb robot picked up a bag, a suspicious package at our jack evans police head quarts on south lamar. this bag contained pipe bombs. as the robot picked up the bag the bag exploded, detonated. at 4:35 a.m., at the location in hudson where the suspect's van is parked our snipers shot out the engine block of the suspect vehicle with a .50 caliber sniper rifle disabling the van. at 4:38 a.m. a suspicious briefcase was reported in the dumpster in our northeast police substation. we dispatched bomb techs to this location and the package was cleared and was not a bomb. between 4:45 and 5:00 a.m., we began calling additional bomb tech resources from the fbi here in dallas and our atf partners here in dallas and we called state resource bomb techs for additional bomb technicians to report to this area. at 5:07 a.m., our squad snipers shot at the suspect to the front windshield, excuse me through the front windshield of the van, striking the suspect. since that time, we have sent the bomb tech robot that has a camera to try and confirm whether the suspect is deceased. because the suspect duri
