and i want to take a moment to thank senator landrieu, who was a driving force in this bill. there's no question without her insistence this wouldn't have happened. so what an opportunity we have. now, there are certain things that i think we should keep out of this cfn conference, and thas things that tear us apart. there's no reason to have controversy in this conference. we can save those battles for another day. i think what we should do with this cmp conference is just all rally around the consensus of what has to be done. and if it's something outside the scope of the conference, if it's unanimous and everybody thinks it is a good idea, like the restore act, let's do it. there's a provision in the bill that helps our rural counties use the proceeds from timber sales to -- for their schools. how critical is this? and for their local governments. you know, one could argue, yeah, it's not part of the transportation program, but it's -- it's -- it's a consensus. it's a coming together. where we can do that, that's very important that we stick with those consensus items and
