this is on larkspur drive last night here in antioch. neighbors heard the commotion, heard the yells for help. the dogs bit three of those neighbors who came out to help, bit them in the legs and arms. paramedics and police arrived. the wild dogs turned on them too. officers opened fire, killing one. neighbors say it happened fast. >> heard everything soy went out and i saw cars everyone honking and i heard people screaming and there was a bunch of cop cars and i was scared. then i heard conshoots that i ran inside. i was like really scared. >> reporter: the one dog that did survive ran away but came back. animal control officers were able to catch it. it's quarantined and will be scanned for a chip and tested for rabies. the results given back to the people bitten. its fate isn't clear but i wanted to show you something back live. there is blood and a leash so seems like it happened in a wide area but neighbors say that they had never seen these dogs before. reporting live, christie smith, "today in the bay." >> time to check things out

we do know that a man was walking his two dogs on larkspur drive just southeast of bellflower drive before 9:00 last night. as he was getting off the trail, he and his dogs were bitten by two other stray dogs. as that was going on, neighbors heard the commotion and went outside to check it out and then they were bitten, too. antioch police arrived at the scene and the two dogs were still there. >> the dogs charged at the officers and the officers fired upon them and killed one. one ran away while still on the scene the other dog came back and we were able to capture that dog, as well. >> i heard the screaming and there was like a bunch of cop cars out here and i was scared and then i heard gunshots and i ran inside and i was like really scared. >> reporter: all four people bitten were either treated at the scene or taken to a local hospital. officers say they had multiple dog bites but they will all be okay. the dogs have been or will be tested for rabies and police say the victims will be notified when the results are in. live in antioch, cate caugiran, kpix 5. >> police are still working

we know a man was walking his two dogs on larkspur drive southeast of bellflower before 9:00 last night. he was getting off the trail. he and his two dogs were bit by two other loose dogs. as that was going on, three neighbors heard the ruckus and went out side to check it out and they were bitten, too. antioch police arrived on the scene quickly and the two dogs were still there. >> the dogs charged at the officers and the officers were forced to fire upon the dogs killing one, one of the dogs ran away while still on the scene another dog came back. we were able to capture that dog, as well. >> i heard people screaming and there was like a bunch of cop cars out here and i was scared and i heard gunshots and ran inside and i was like really scared. >> reporter: all four people were either treated at the scene or taken to a local hospital. officers say they had multiple dog bites but will be okay. now, police are also looking for a possible owner of these two dogs. they didn't have tags on them, and neighbors in the area said they hadn't seen them around before. reporting live in antioch
