this morning trouble with governor brown's proposal for tax increases. larryng. good morning. >> good morning. >> let's talk about why this is in trouble. >> well, we've talked about this before. unless they have 60% public support going into the election, they're in big trouble, and likely to lose. now, that's because so many people have second thoughts at the end. to brown's proposal, well, the latest survey by the public policy institute of california, a very nice nonpartisan operation in san francisco, statewide survey finds that only 54% support the tax increases, that's the sales tax and income tack for higher level earners. that's very worrisome, because you're just not going to be there. 54% is not good. >> almost all the $7 billion that would come from these temporary increases would fund public education. does this speak to how people feel about public education, or just their own personal economy? >> it's a good question. the irony is voters understand, they get it, they understand the poor shape of public education in california. that same ppic sur
