laura cooper joining us now.he disconnect between china and the rest of the world, is it a big disconnect? if not, where do you see the big disconnects? laura: that is not necessarily a disconnect that is emerging. we were expecting this divergence in monetary policy. we know that the fed and the ecb have another hiking cycle. em is at the cutting face. headlines from china today suggest we could see some policy stimulus at the margins in the second half of the. it is already a divergence in place. the greatest disconnect, there are quite a few, probably it is around earnings and the growth outlook given that we are entering q2 earnings. guy: that is what alix between the macro and the earnings stories. alix: i wonder what is going on with that. that was the point. earnings estimates have been downgraded for the quarter. it will be easy, but none the less, earnings are declining and the data pulls up. what gives? laura: we look at the price action year to date, we have seen that better-than-expected earnings back
