i'm laura garcia. >> and i'm marcus washington. all right, kari, let's talk about it. the cold temperatures keep out the coat, scarves, gloves? >> all of that. we have to layer up again today because of that system that moved through yesterday. it's really pulling down some cold air from canada, as it continues to move across the dese have been in the 30s, below freezing in parts of the north bay, that's a look at palo alto, where we're starting out at 36 degrees, and we'll stay in the 30s through at least 8:00 and then start to gradually warm up, but you can see there is a lot of sun in that forecast today. as you get ready to head out on the roads here is a live look in san jose, looking at the interchange 280 as well as 880 or 101, and so we're going to see for the most part a smooth commute, but i have seen several incidents on the roads, some non-injury crashes, especially in san jose so i'll be watching that and also letting you know if there's a bigger issue coming up in weather and traffic. >> thank you very much, kari. >>>

"today in the bay's" kris sanchez has been covering the story since this morning and kris, i know that they have talking about a stabbing being connected to this. so how does that play a role in what's going on this morning? >> reporter: well, we are waiting for further confirmation but we can show you that there is a san jose police crime scene right here. this is at south 11th street and east reed street, where we are. we're not too far from san jose state university but it is a pretty residential street. we want to get to the most important part of the story right now, there is an amber alert based possibly on a crime that happened here. this happened about 10:00 also night. san jose police have not said whether this is in fact a stabbing, who the victim was, what that person's condition is but we know they triggered an amber alert through the chp for a little girl who was taken from san jose right aro

i'm kris sanchez in for laura garcia. >> first we'll start with the weather starting foggy in some spots. >> light, patchy fog and not as dense as it was yesterday and getting ready for some rain and i want to show you the forecast for the rest of the week. as you make plans, you'll see waves of rain coming in late tonight into the north bay and the rest of the bay area for tomorrow morning. and then some more scattered showers early on thursday. we'll also see some more rain coming in on sunday while our temperatures stay warm with upper 50s and low 60s. we'll time it out hour by hour and that's coming up in a few minutes. mike, you're giving me the thumbs up. how is it looking? >> the bay bridge toll plaza, look, the fast track lanes are moving well and hov lanes with no problem. toll plaza itself and coming off the berkeley curve and the entrance off of 880, those are all slowing. 601 on a tuesday. not bad. mild slowing from walnut creek and also coming in out of rodeo and in from richmond. and that is a good drive. good news, also, that tom jensen said that judah is open again. he is

i'm laura garcia. >> and i'm marcus washington. vianey has a look at the commute in a bit. a sig alert to tell you about a. first started with the weather there, wet roads for a lot of people. >> the rain is coming down especially in parts of the north bay and the peninsula. i wanted to give you a closer look at some of the rain that passed santa rosa and petaluma, now moving over toward napa. you have about 20 minutes to get out the door before the heavy rain arrives in napa and pushing off toward the east. san francisco also getting heavy rain on the richmond-san rafael bridge, we're seeing some heavy downpours as well as the bay bridge, and then we head toward the east bay, where antioch, pittsburg, as you head out the door there's a bit of a break right now and it's a drier commute for you, but san francisco seeing heavy rain in the richmond district and for the south bay, we are also seeing a break in the rain for san jose. expect waves of rain and not only this morning, but into the afternoon, we're going to have a soggy day
