"today in the bay's" bob redell live for us this morning. this is outside of police headquarters. bob? >> reporter: yeah, good morning to you, marcus. the attorney for the three alameda police officers says her clients were trying to keep mario gonzalez safe when at the tried to arrest him early last week and that they are all heartbroken and devastated by his death, the body cam video you are about to see is disturbing to watch. just a heads-up. we've learned one of the officers is a veteran. started working here at the police department in 2010. the other two officers hit the street in 2018. two mondays ago the officers responded to two 911 calls. one neighbor reporting gonzalez was standing too close to his home. another caller reported gonzalez was loitering and accused him of stealing alcohol from a nearby store. there was a struggle to get gonzalez

i'm laura garcia. >> i'm kris sanchez. and right now, vaccine appointments are opening up in santa clara county. and bob riddell with the latest. i did the same this morning looking for appointments, and what are you finding? >> i am not able to find them, and that not to say they are not there, but i haven't found them. so at midnight, santa clara opened up the appointment scheduler, and to give notice to other shot providers that anyone between ages 16 and 49 can schedule their appointment right now for april 15th and beyond. so you can go online and theoretically schedule the appointment as long as the appointment is not scheduled before april 15th, and so on the deadline comes to be a week from today on next thursday. so what you are going to do is to go to the search engine and type in santa clara county covid vaccination, and you will go to the public health department there, and it is a tab here to book an appointment, and it says here all vaccination sites are all currently full, and new appointments are not full,

. >> and i'm laura garcia. we're also tracking a 4.0 earthquake in the mendocino national forest, about 45 miles northwest of cloverdale this morning. it happened just after 4:00, about 4.18. no reports of dam or injuries but what a way to wake up. >> meteorologist kari hall has more analysis on this. good morning, kari. >> good morning. checking the usgs they were saying only six people report they felt it, it is in a remote area in the mendocino national forests and one of our lesser known faults, the bartlett springs fault. we watched these because a 4.0 doesn't happen that often but it is an active, seismic region and it could possibly trigger another earthquake on one of those parallel faults like the san andreas fault. as we look at how many we get, we get 100 earthquakes per day in california. most of them are below a 4.0, and in a year, we get 36,000 earthquakes a year. so it is a pretty active region, and looking at the type of earthquake we had, it was a right lateral strike slip fault, that's the kin

i'm laura garcia. along with cierra johnson, we'r breaking news, a 4.0 magnitude earthquake striking in the mendocino national forest. it was early,ut 4:18 this morning, about 45 miles northwest of cloverdale. this map kind of gives you an idea of where it is. pretty remote out there but good shaking nonetheless. let's check in with kari. >> yes, it is a very active region and to see a 4.0, we don't get that many of them, so as we look at where it happened, it was just northwest of ukiah, and it's possible that you may have felt some of that, but looking at the frequency of earthquakes that we have here in california, and we get about 100 a day, if you don't feel most of those, because most of them are below a 4.0, and of course, the most active fault is the san andreas, this is parallel to the an san dre was fault which we'll have to watch closely because some of that lateral movement could possibly trigger a larger earthquake. so we'll be watching that throughout the morning, as well as our forecast.
