i'm laura garcia-cannon. a new bill co-written by a bay area congresswoman would end the federal ban on marijuana if passed. the bill will go before congress today. here are some of the details. the legislation co-sponsored by oakland congresswoman barbara lee would limit the federal government. under the bill people would be able to grow and sell pot in states that allow it without fear of federal prosecution. let's talk about the cooler temperatures that we're feeling today. >> it is so much nicer out there. you'll notice a difference when you walk out the front door. inland in the upper 50s, heading to the 80s, 85 is as warm as i'm going in fairfield. 70s in oakland, 75 today in san rafael. so substantial cooldown. about 20 degrees cooler on average than where we were on tuesday. 79 by friday, cooler and then temperatures level off, finally a fair stretch of seasonable weather in the bay. no more extremes on this seven-day. let's check your drive. >> we don't have extremes but we have differences here for

i'm laura garcia-cannon. we have new information on developing news in the south bay. police are investigating a shooting that kill one man and injured three others this morning. marla tellez is live at the scene. you got an update? >> yes, we got new information from the public information officer. he tells us the victim appears to be in his late teens to early 20s, he was found shot to death down here on oxton drive where you can see it's still very much an active scene this morning. this is a residential neighborhood in south san jose year tully and 101. police got the call just after 3:00 this morning. three others shot but expected to be okay. the spokesman tells us all of them were in a garage of a home on the 1200 block of oxton. for some sort of a gathering. the suspect or suspects started shooting. a neighbor didn't hear anything and is surprised by it all. >> you've been here 30 years? >> yeah. i'm concerned now. where is this all. i know i see a lot of people walking through here. through that stre

i'm laura garcia-cannon. it is 6:00 right now, as we mentioned a lot going on this morning. a couple of fires, one let's start out with the east bay. it was an old victorian home. christie smith is live at the scene. the flames were engulfing the home. luckily a lot of the kids were out of town that lived there. tell us about it. >> reporter: that's the incredible part. when you look at the damage, looking at one side of the home on 23rd avenue. it's amazing that everyone made it out okay. this is a two-story victorian. the fire broke out, overnight, eight were inside, some sleeping as this was just before 2:00 in the morning. when firefighters arrived they say flames were pouring from the home here. but the residents were outside. there were working smoke detectors in the home. this home has two units, one up, one down stairs. because of the older construction it was a challenge to knock down these huge flames. here is what one captain told us. >> it looks like they may have overloaded electric circuits or electric issue. >> if they were running fans, it was hot? >> you kno

i'm laura garcia-cannon. a missing east bay nursing student, not convinced she is dead. christie smith is live in hayward where michelle le's family is holding out hope that she will come home safely. the police are saying otherwise. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. michelle le's family says they're not giving up hope because they have no reason to. police think she was likely killed, but the family says they have no real evidence of that, as grim as it sounds, including a body. police say they can't talk about everything they know because it might give the killer a chance to come up with an alibi or taint evidence. the family has put up new billboards of the nursing student who disappeared may twechb27th on a break from kaiser permanente medical center. they have several persons of interest, including a former roommate, but she has reportedly said she has nothing to do with it. the family is holding a vigil tomorrow. >> thank you very much. >>> now for a look at the forecast, things going to clear up
